MJS Bucks Forum headed for the dustbin of history...

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Fri Jan 11, 2008 5:29 am

I like those guys over there and feel bad for them......

But it is a riot that MJS is now evicting them for some sort of new site they want to call "Sports Bubbler". Maybe they'll load in some "Up with People" songs to play in the background on the new boards....

The link is here for those of you that want to pay proper last respects to your ancestry.....(Europa, Balls2Walls, etc.).

You should tell the good posters to com here. Don't read those forums and have never posted on them I don't believe. I'm assuming some of them don't post here.

Thats the first time I have looked at that forum, and it looks terrible. Not the posters, just the setup and how slow it is.

To me, they seem to have at least two camps:

1. Thoughtful posters who are well worth reading.

2. Johnny One Note posters who have axes to grind (like hating Bogut) and keep grinding, and grinding, and etc etc etc.

They seem to endorse the slogan Live Free Or Die! And for them, a *moderated* forum is not free.

I hope some do come here.

I used to post there all the time (and I mean ALL the time), but it's sad that it's coming to such an abrupt end. I had a lot of memories there, and there was a lot of intelligence, but once the teenage graffiti artists came along, it was all downhill from there. That's why a lot of people (Europa, Sigra, Chuk, PP, Balls, Epi, myself, and many others) have left that forum. Maybe they will post on the new forum, but regardless, it's going to be sad once they finally close those boards down.

RIP, JSO.

The one nice thing about that forum is that when you posted something, you really felt appreciated by the people who read it. People would respond to it, be it negatively or positively, but if it was thoughtful or well written, people would at least applaud you on that point.

On the other side, there was quite a bit of misinformation, ridiculousness, and personal attacking on that site.

It being gone is both a positive and a negative.

I really liked it. Not the software cause that sucks, but the fact that it's not moderated. Sorry MD

It's just a whole different kind of thing than realgm or sportsbubbler. For good an bad, that is.

Shame it has to go, it provided another sorts of place, although one of the JS members (Moses) has took it upon him to setup a new unmoderated forum http://milwaukeebucks.ning.com/ but you have to wonder if that will work over a longer period.

Although I haven't really posted a whole lot in the last year, I'll still miss Jsonline. A few years back it was a whole lot of fun. But sadly recently it's been overrun by Bytors constant anti-Bogut spam. I've had a RealGM account for a while now even though I haven't really posted anything.

I enjoy reading most of your threads. I don't have nearly the Basketball IQ that many of you have. It's nice to learn something new.

So nice meeting you all.

Here you just click the quote button (not reply and then quote, like on the JS board.)

That's really too bad. It was a good place to go and read reactions to the Hunt articles.
