OT lebron James is a fast guy

Post#1 » by MajorDad » Mon Jan 14, 2008 5:03 am

I noticed lebron was traveling at a speed of 101 on an Ohio interstate. i didn't realize hummers could go that fast. obviously he must have a newer model than the one he had as a high school star. On a positive note, I noticed they didn't charge him with a DUI, drugs or for not wearing a seat belt.

An intersteing part of being cited for traveling at an excess speed (limit was 65 MPH) was that lebron had his lawyer file a not guilty plea. I didn't realize you could file a non guilty plea for a speeding ticket. Why didn't he just pay the $50 fine? his lawyer cost ten times that amount. Yup, pay $50,000 to the lawyer rather than $50 to the state. i wonder what his defense will be? the speedometer on his GM vehicle wasn't working properly and he only thought he was going 95? or that his cop radar detector wasn't working and he didn't see the speed trap until he passed it? or that he was pregnant and had to get to the hospital? or that he had eaten a couple of white castle burgers and had to get to the next rest stop real fast? the sign on the Interstate said Indy 500 striaght ahead, so he thought he was there? he confused the 90 miles to Cleveland sign with a MPH limit sign? or that he was advised to travel that fast by his Tom Tom? or that he was running late for an important game? or that as King James he is granted diplomatic immunity in the state of Ohio?

perhaps L&H can enlighten us as to Lebron's fast actions on the Interstate.

maybe he just likes to drive fast, what's the problem?

36 over is gonna be slightly higher than $50, but at that point it'll be reckless driving

LeBron and Kellen Winslow JR have been having these speed battles ever since K2 was drafted by the Browns in 2004..

You should see THE KING when he's on a speed boat fishing...

But nothing touches K2 and his scooter..

The need for speed battles are fierce between the two..

Going almost 50 miles per hour over the speed limit? That's...really dumb

that's over 160kmh for those of us in the modern world. that's pretty bloody quick. strange for someone like lebron - a relatively intelligent person, with potentially a lot to lose - to be doing something like that.

I'm going to assume that lebron no longer owns that hummer. it must be over 4 years old. and frankly, it was only valued at $48,000. the stereo equipment inthat hummer is way pas t being obsolete. i have to believe lebron has better wheels today than that old thing.

none of the reports I've read so far identify the type of car. I felt sure L&H would be up on those details.

the report did say it was on lebron's birthday. i can just see The King talking to one of his peasants - that you can't give me a ticket on my birthday. i was just trying out my new present. That would be cool if it was a stretch limo going 110 !

maybe lebron's defense will be that he thought the 110 MPH was in kilometers because it's a foreign car. and that he thought he was only going 110 kms which would be about 67 mph.

Do we know he was in a Hummer or is that a guess?

Was he doing this late at night with no traffic or were the roads crowded? I think we've all had a car up to 100mph and it isn't a big deal as long as you're not putting other people at risk. Do 100mph in a Porsche or big Benz feels like nothing.

The fine would be closer to $500 than $50. However, he might be pleading not guilty and using a lawyer because of the points involved. The massive amount of points for doing 100mph might be enough for James to lose his license. So he pleads not guilty and has his lawyer talk with the D.A. and maybe they plea-bargain it down to fewer points so James can keep his license. I'm sure he's not using a lawyer because he's trying to get out of a $500(?) ticket.

Michael Redd has a lead foot as well... Unfortunatley they took a lot of the info out of our county court search, but last I remember he was pulled over 3 times for excessive speeding. All of which got talked down to some meaningless offense.

is contempt a bad thing?

how about lebron in his first summer playing an exhibition game at Dayton and refusing to sign any child's ball or jersey or autograph anything for anybody when every other Cav was more than willing to do so both before and after the game? lebron was acting like a king even before he scored his first two points. that was my first impression of King james. First impressions are very hard to erase.

I had no doubt posters on this board go 100 mph and think nothing of it. hopefully they are not on their cell phone when doing so or eating a wendy's juicy triple burger. Junk yards and grave yards are full of parts from people going over 100.
