His stats have gone down every year in the league. Is there some reason this kid hasn't shown any improvement in his game?
It seemed like he was gonna be a star after his first year, now, a career backup?
What do you guys think about him, where do you see his career going?

rookie year had a breakout rookie campaign...
2nd season was injured most of the year
3rd year lost starting job to Yi
this might explain why his stats have gotten worse over the years.

He started out great last year (on offense at least) but then got hurt about 10 games into the season, came back while still hurting which hurt his play and minutes and then sat out for the rest of the year.
Then we drafted Yi, he got the starting job and CV's minutes have been cut down.
What he needs to do to earn more playing time is keep driving to the paint instead of fading to the perimeter which he tends to do. He's a dynamic scorer when he drives and gets into the paint but unfortunately he hasn't done that much this year.

Completely agree with everything there twirl except i think what he needs to do to get more PT is get a new coach, LK seems to have a real dislike for him. His D sucks and needs a lot of work, but offensively he's got massive potential and could be an incredibly dynamic scorer if given the PT. He should be starting in front of Yi without doubt imo, but does need to learn that when he drives at the rack virtually no one can stop him consistently, settles for jumpers too often.

Other criticisms:
1.His shot is very flat.
2.He tends to turn the ball over a lot in the post
3. I think he is pretty weak/lazy on rebounding. We have seen that he is pretty athletic, but I wish he would use this more on the defensive end. It seems like every time they show a replay of someone follow up dunking from that top camera view, you will see a dazed, CV just standing there.
I think there is a reason Yi beat him for the starting job, and while some may say its to keep Yi happy, Villanueva hasn't done enough to take that starting job away from him.

I told you he is lazy. Lazy mind, lazy body, lazy jumper....his shot has no arch and is flat as a pancake! Just horrible.
The pourous body language and dazed look on defense. He is a great kid it seems in character but is soft as a noodle.
No toughness or moxie to his game at all. The man needs a heart put in him. Another NY/NJ guy with raw talent that does not maximize it.
He and Tim Thomas cut from the same cloth. Will never have any sustain greatness in his career. Does not have nor play with that chip or grit the good ones do.
Very weak motor...internal and externally. Nice guy though. But nice does not win games...
Watch how he runs, and reaches for reobunds and hoists up shots and an arm to block a shot...just real lazy and slow. He bores me watching him if he is not playing real well.
Another skilled player who doesn't know how to win if there are average players around him. That UConn team had other guys who can ball with him...
Not so here.

I figured it out you guys. MBBOT=Jon McGlocklin, if he's not, then he's stealing his lines and should be banned.

You mean he has to stand further away from the camera?
------------
Losting the starting job to rookie Yi may be a big shock for him, and play with sub mates is another reason for his sucks.
But in some games he breakout with amazing sparks, he can block shots and dunk unstoppably.
I hope he could play more positive and aggressive, try to reduce the TO, and play more in the post.
If he is not satisfied with present situation in Bucks, a trade will be good for both sides.

I gurantee if we started him at Sf would be a much better team.

CBQ among others has been pretty clear about CV's consistent history of being much less than he could be. Saying they see nothing new in him now.
I've been holding out hope that a coaching "intervention" could stimulate maturity and consistency and effort in CV. I think on his level he's trying. And I'd prefer to think that "lazy" players can change - and sometimes do.
But CV seems a prisoner of his bad habits.
