Maybe this is one of those trades that's good for everyone. Redd is a healthier, great shooter that Houston needs. T-Mac would have more trust and respect from our players than Redd gets. Tracy passes out of double teams well which would open up our offense.

I voted yes also, just for the idea that maybe a change of scenery would help both players.

If it's the rumored offer of McGrady/Wells for Redd/Villanueva my answer remains the same as it was when we first heard about it.

I'd really just prefer a PG though and move Mo to the 2.

I voted yes because it would make the rest of the season more exciting... sometimes it's hard to drag yourself out of the house on a cold winter night to watch an under 500 team.

..however I would be worried about regretting this move if Tmac is always hurt. I think we might end up wanting Redd back like we wanted Ray Allen after that horrible move.

We don't need Wells. And, I'd rather see if we could get Noah for Villanueva.

A Redd and T-Mac swap neither makes the Bucks a contender now, nor does it make us one two or three years from now. Like the current Bucks roster, we're stuck hoping that one of our existing players makes the leap to superstar. Even then, are we any better than the Rockets right now? We don't have anyone on the team that compares to Yao.

That said, I'd do it simply because Tracy's contract runs a year less than Michael's.

I'd still very much prefer to unload Redd with a guy like Gadz in order to get exipiring deals, young talent and/or a pick.

Gadz and Redd for T-Mac.

I'd like to get a PG too (not sold on Mo being a starting SG, though) but the good news about McGrady is he's a very good ballhandler who could be a de-facto PG and relieve Mo of those duties and allow him to do the one thing he does better than anything else - shoot. And if the deal includes Wells, it also brings the Bucks a legitimate SF and an upgrade over Villanueva.

YES, it would make the rest of the season fun.

The reason I wouldn't want Wells, is because McGrady can play the 3 and Bell can start at the 2. Mo starts at the one, and I agree, McGrady handles most of the playmaking duties. This way, we can bring Sessions up to see if he can contribute at this level. I like Landry as the power forward that everyone says we need. Wells also has the potential to be a contract year killer.

And, no draft picks are included in this deal, right?

I think it's the best offer we could hope to expect to be honest with you.


So, if it's on the table and TMac is agreeable to coming here. Then maybe we should do it.

Yup. Bringing in McGrady would provide - at least initially - a reason for people to come watch the Bucks and it would give the Bucks some more national attention as well. If McGrady is healthy and Wells is part of the trade, I think a lineup of:

PG: Mo
SG: McGrady
SF: Wells
PF: Yi
C: Bogut

is a legit playoff team in the East.

The concern would be the inclusion of the 2008 first as we were told last week. I'd much prefer to avoid including that although given how the Rockets are clearly offering the superior players the Bucks may not have a choice. It would have to at least be Top 10 protected in my opinion.

Hey at least we'd have an All-Star this year!

Good point...this may be the best offer.

It doesn't blow things up.....it does bring in a HIGHLY marketable guy for Kohl to sell. Both guys need a change of scenery. We aren't any worse whatsoever with a Redd/T-Mac trade.

We'd be crazy not to. If Kohl vetos this one then it's time to picket.

I really think if we got Wells in the deal it'd make us a very well rounded team. Bonzi Wells is a good player. He rebounds and plays defense. McGrady as we all know is just a flat out better player than Redd. I'm definitely on board.
