Even though its early, assuming we get a pick between 10 and fifteen, who do we take

If we are in the 10-15 range, my top 5 would be:

1. Darren Collison, PG, UCLA, Jr, 6-1/170: quick as a cat defensively and is not a score first mentality PG. Very long arms and really plays hard. If he turned into a stud, he's our PG of the future and we can move Mo for other talent or have him be sixth man, if not, Collison is just a really good backup.

2. Tyler Smith, SF, Tennessee, So, 6-7/220: This can can REALLY defend and get out in the passing lanes/transition. 6-7, 220, kind of has a Josh Howard type game. Not going to be a great long range bomber, but has midrange game and can get to the basket. Very athletic. Would be a good fit at the SF for us.

3. Nicolas Batum, SF, France, 19 years old, 6-8/210: don't know if this guy will be there in this range, but he is ranked as the top international player this year. Incredible athlete with good feel for the game, would be a good fit here because he's athletic and he does not need to dominate the ball on offense.

4. DJ Augustin, PG, Texas, So, 5-11/180: The TJ Ford references will fly here because of his size and school, but they are different types of players. Augustin can score and lead a team, and is very quick. Should be available mid first round, although his stock is going up.

5. Chase Buddinger, SG/SF, Arizona, So, 6-7/215: A lot of people will scoff at this pick but I don't know why. I don't know if it's perceived lack of athletic ability or what. The guy is a ridiculous athlete (40 inch vertical, won't be surprised if he tests out top at the combine) and can really run/shoot. One of the top volleyball players in the country as well, so that shows his athletic ability.

Id trade it or draft Mayo to trade him.

I LOVE Tyler Smith's game. I mentioned him in the draft thread a few days back.

Smith tonight against a good Vanderbilt team: 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 6-11 FG. Had a couple ridiculous steals and finishes.

He's a slightly less offensively polished Josh Howard.

Yah no way Id want him on the team, just seems like he'd have a good amount of value around the league. The problem with 10-15 is there is so many good players at positions we really dont need (mostly center) and drafting some players at positions we need might be a reach.

OJ Mayo has the potential to be amazing and the potential to be amazingly disappointing. I think a team like the Grizzlies could take him because if it works out, Mayo and Gay on the wings is pretty nasty.

Well, at small forward there is Smith, Batum, Buddinger right where we pick. At PG there is Collison and Augustin.

Outside of of DeAndre Jordan (stud prospect out of Texas A and M), the C's are really limited in this draft IMO. Hibbert is huge but really struggles with quick players and I think he'll find it hard in the NBA. Thabeet is a great shotblocker but is limited offensively. Outside of those 3 the rest of the prospects are PF's.

I think Batum will be long gone, Buddiger will be gone to but I havent really seen Smith play ever. I honestly think Collison or Augustin could be had with a lower pick, maybe even 20, and Im not to sold on either. Collison would be my pick out of the 2 but both are pretty small correct?

I'd take Smith over Batum and Buddinger personally. He's the type of defender/athlete at the three this team needs.

Personally I'd love for us to draft Hibbert. We'd have some serious big men depth.

Reading up on Smith he seems to be pretty good. I take back what I said before and say draft him. Also though, is he really a sophomore? I see that he played on Iowa so wouldnt he have to sit out a year making him really a junior in a way?

Luke, were those your top 5 overall? or your top 5 with the understanding that we would draft 10th or higher?

I noticed beasley, Rose, Gordon and Mayo were not among your players listed.

If the Bucks do somehow get a top 5 pick, I would say it would be in their best interest to trade either redd and/or Mo for a decent SF and draft one of those very selfish but good guards that will be coming out in the draft. if the bucks draft in the top 5, it should be very obvious that the cast we've assembled is a terrible cast. While Mayo, Gordon, beasley may all be selfish, they are also genuine star players just like kobe and iverson. if the bucks get a chance to draft one of those selfish guards, it would be in their best interest to do exactly what portland and Seattle both did last year - trade the veteran at that position and make room for a new era. Just like there were not enough basketballs for both ray allen and durant, there won't be enough basketballs for Gordon or Mayo and Redd. .

If we got a top 5 pick my favorite in order would be
1. Derrick Rose
2. Michael Beasley
3. Deandre Jordan
4. Donte Green
5. Eric Gordan

Those were my top 5 assuming picking 10+.

If we're just talking top 5 overall:

1. Rose
2. Jordan
3. Gordon
4. Greene
5. Beasley (people have somewhat talked me out of him, but given his talent I can't drop him out of the top 5).

The top 5 guys I listed originally might not all be there after 10, just guys that could be.

Eric Gordon looks like a stud.

He's much more athletic than Josh Howard. I'd liken him to a Ricky Davis with his head on straight. He's a very very SMART player to go along with his physical gifts.

No way. In every sport you need to go BPA. Not only would Hibbert not be BPA, he also wouldn't fit a need at all for us. He's really going to struggle in the NBA, his feet are so slow. The guy is only averaging 12.5/6.9/1.9 in college at his size, and this is his fourth season. He's been held to single digit scoring 5 times already this season by college defenders, and really hasn't been that dominating of a shotblocker either.
