What is Michael Redd worth?

Stemming from the last thread, I offered up Redd in a young talent/salary dump move.

Redd
Gadz
Ivey

for

Dorell Wright
Ricky Davis
Jason Williams
Alonzo Mourning
2009 1st Round pick

Luke thought it really wasn't enough.

When scouring other teams' roster, would a team give up their young talent for Redd? Can we get better than Dorell Wright and a 1st for Redd?

What are the kinds of young talent available if we were to trade him, and shed maybe Bobby or Gadz' contract?

I think Dorell Wright and a 2009 1st for Michael Redd, while dumping Gadz, is a solid deal.

Thoughts?

I don't think your deal is nearly enough for Redd for a few reasons, if only because we do not need cap room or young players that badly at all. The last two times we've had cap room we haven't gotten any players of signficance, so why bet on Kohl finally taking a risk like that again? Plus, we are already developing young players in Mo, Yi, and Bogut, so i'd much prefer a veteran at SF.

I think it's hard to judge what Redd is worth, but the more I think about it the more I think we could get Mcgrady for him. I can also see us getting Jason Kidd for him if they trade Carter, but ideally I'd hope we could find a way to get Shawn Marion in a 3 way deal.

Now it is very unlikely that we can get one of those three when all is said and done, but I think this team needs an established leader who can play D and make his teammates better so much more than young players and cap room that I think we'll wait until we can get that kind of player if we decdie to trade Redd.

A couple of pretty good players that would probably overtake Redd's impact collectively. I wish we could get Kevin Martin but he's untouchable basically.

We have tons of Redd threads already.
