Amare to the Bucks?
I expected this little Nugget to have a 10 page thread by the time I got here.

"Chicago might be willing to dangle Luol Deng and some of its younger big men, but that type of deal would set the Suns back, as far as their championship aspirations are concerned. The same goes for Milwaukee, which has young bargaining chips in Yi Jianlian and Charlie Villanueva to pair with Michael Redd in a blockbuster package."

If we were to acquire someone like Amare.. how would that work with both Yi and Bogut on the team? Seems as if we would have to trade either Yi or Bogut with someone for it to work. Other than that we risk stifling the development of Yi or Bogut with Amare on this team. So doesn't seem realistic if we are intent on keeping Yi, Bogut, and Amare.

Yeah, I saw that this morning.
I think it's highly unlikely any package of Redd/Villanueva could get Amare. We would need to be willing to part with Yi or Bogut for Amare.
MAYBE it would work for Redd/CV for Marion. Maybe.
Maybe it's just me, but I would have no problem parting with Yi for Amare.
Amare/Bogut frontline would dominate the east. Absolutely dominate. Amare could play PF no problem. He'd probably be better off than playing center.
Mo
Redd
Simmons
Amare
Bogut
just sick

Yi/Simmons/Voskuhl for Stoudamire works but the Bucks would probably have to throw in a future first since this is a terrible deal for the Suns.
Can't see any reason why the Suns would trade Stoudamire to the Bucks, though. But I'd see if the Suns still wanted Yi and see if anything developed from there.

He will probably be more of an impact player than Yi is.
You know whats really good for "marketability"?
Winning.
Amare would make us instant contenders in the east.
Yup, I like Yi, but are we really expecting his prime to be better than Stoudamire's? Come on guys.

Let's think about this for a minute.. before we start saying dump Yi Jianlian to get Amare.
One of the issues that the Suns are facing with both Amare and Marion, is that both guys want to be the focal point of that team. How would that work if we were to have a Amare/Bogut frontline? I can see Bogut giving up shots for Amare, but I can't see Amare giving up anything for Bogut. (Amare averages maybe 1 assist per game)
Would that help or hurt Bogut's development? And just to play devil's advocate a bit.. if the Bucks were to grab Amare, wouldn't it actually make more sense to pair him with a more athletic player in Yi? Our frontline would be super athletic, and in the meantime as Yi develops there wouldn't be any whining from Amare about him not being "the man." Both guys run the floor really well and both could play a faster paced game with Mo Williams who is built more for that style of play (if we keep him as the starting PG.
Personally though, I would prefer Marion.. I just think that the pieces we could offer might not be as appealing to them. I would love to throw a Simmons, CV, Gadz package at them for Marion.... BUT I KNOW they wouldn't go for it.

Amare thrives in their system, but you have to realize that Amare and Marion are both somewhat like Packer receivers and tight ends in the 90's - you knew they were going to put up numbers for a few years in their prime just by virtue of playing with Favre, and you have to realize that's part of the context.
How did the Suns do without Amare for a year? Pretty damn good. I'm sure they would be almost as good without Marion as well. But take away Nash for a few games and it's almost a guaranteed losing streak. And Amare is a very bad defender, unlike Marion. I'm not buying the hype.
Furthermore, you have to realize that on the olympic team, Amare got some minutes this past summer because of the injury to Bosh, but it is widely understood that he will be behind Bosh, Howard, and Anthony in the big man rotation next summer, and could even fall behind Chandler because the team needs defense and rebounding. Amare also sat on the bench behind Boozer on the 2004 international team. He has some great qualities as a player but I truly believe his all-NBA selection was a team phenomenon.
I don't believe for a second that the Bucks couldn't piece together an acceptable offer for the Suns, and in fact I would be a little reluctant to part with Redd and Yi, although in the end I would do it.

international competitions are vastly different from the nba and amare is pure nba style player. luckily the bucks just happen to play in the nba.
yes, steve nash does help him a ton, but amare is an amazing finisher and if bogut continues to draw double teams, amare is gonna be the one open a decent % of the time
