Michael Redd Post Game Comment

I know this was mentioned in the post game thread, but I felt it deserved one of its own.
The Bucks offensive sets ran through Bogut in the second half and, after halftime, Redd took only three shots and scored only four points.
"The offense wasn't ran through me," Redd said. "It was nothing they did, I just stood around, pretty much, patient, just waiting. They didn't do anything special at all."
This signals an interesting test to LK's new in game preference for running the show through Bogut.
Do you guys think we have a problem brewing??

I just hope he doesn't try to blame the second half collapse on the fact that the offense wasn't being run through him. How about trying to play some D for a change? That might've been nice.

The good news is the Redd really busted his a$$ on defense and stopped dribble penetration

I kind of thought this through his body language....he hates the fact that he is not the number 1 option any more...
we have to trade him he is only going to become a problem ....
say all you want about Glenn Robinson but when Ray Allen, Sam, and Tim Thomas came here all he did was become a better teammate....I hate the people who called Glenn a cancer but will let Redd get away with crap like this.

I didnt see the game but from reading the game thread I got the view that they we're ruinning the offence through Bogut in the first half and Redd was capitalising on it. Is this correct.

I sense an unhappy camper!
He is right though, he was standing around on the perimeter most of the second half, and if this continues, it's time to dump him. No reason to pay Redd max money to do that.

I guess this is the crux I what I was bringing up. Getting more production out of Bogut offensively is great if it helps the team overall (ie subtraction from others is not greater and all that), but if Redd (and his max $$$) is going to sook about it rather than enjoy the benefits, whilst not playing defence, then there
is a problem.

For years I had been defending Redd across the entire Internet, but recently I changed my opinion about him, because he and Mo need to be split up, along with the fact the Bogut has really emerged. This comment only further solidifies why we need to trade him.
He's not part of the problem, but he's not part of the solution, either. It's time we trade him so we can address other team needs.

I'm glad my ass is now on the internet for everybody to see. Best picture of my ass ever in your avatar. You know I'd lose it if it wasn't so perfectly attatched to my sternum.

That definitely happened in the first quarter yes and Redd was the number 1 beneficiary of it. As I said in the postgame thread this is the first public signal of Redd being unhappy at being the 2nd banana but get ready because there will be more. I had hoped a guy of Redd's intelligence would have realised that having an inside outside game could only benefit Redd and the team, apparantly I was wrong.

Well if thats the STFU Redd, you shot 10/18 because of it. Play some D.

Glen Robinson was a very good player, I liked Robinson way more then I ever liked Redd.

The thing about Redd that I have personally noticed is that he really isn't that great of a straight jump shooter, so when it goes inside out, he misses his open jumper. All he can score on is layups, penetration and turn around mid range jumpers. Just look at his 3 point %.

I'd like to see how this interview originally played out. Redd has never complained or blamed teammates in his entire career. I highly doubt this was the way it was intended to sound.
And regardless, he's right. He shot 10-18 and while some people on here are actually bitching about that, it's a higher percentage than Bogut shot and his shots are all 0-3 feet from the basket. Redd took his first shot after we were already down double digits in the 3rd quarter. The only reason we were close through the 1st was because he was "hot". Then we go out in the 3rd and he doesn't even shoot.
I feel that Bogut should be the 1 option and that he is starting to become it, but I really don't think Redd played a terrible offensive game. And if you're going to mention defense, than every single player on this team is to blame.
The offense can still "run through" Bogut with Redd taking a shot. Because Redd had more attempts than Bogut doesn't mean anything. I thought we looked at Bogut a lot tonight and our offense was great. Defense was the reason we lost.
