While 2008 has brought amazing progress for our own #1 pick, Andrew Bogut, look at the last 8 games for the 2006 #1 overall:
17.6 mpg
4.1 ppg
2.75 rpg
0.63 apg
0.13 bpg
I haven't seen much of the Raptors this year, but those numbers have to be disturbing if you are a Raptors fan.

But in Canadian numbers thats probably like 10 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 apg, and 2 bpg

That really sucks for the kid, he might be even more of a confidence player than Bogut. I don't understand what they are doing in Toronto, the first couple games of the season this kid is averaging over 20 a game, Sam Mitchell immediately takes him out the starting line-up, and he IMMEDIATELY starts sucking.
Part of me feels happy because of the epic battles I had with Raptors fans on the PC board of Bogut/Bargnani (apparently Bargnani was the next Dirk and had as high of potential as anyone in the entire league, and Bogut was just a soft bum).
But the basketball fan in me is pissed just because its a waste of talent.
They should ship him off before he is permanently ruined.

Why. It's not like Bargnani would be an improvement over CV. At least CV can rebound.

Bargnani can defend a little at PF and can actually hit threes unlike CV. His problem is that he can only play PF and will never get to play significant minutes there as Bosh can also only play the same position.

On the bright side, he's shooting 26% from the floor during that stretch, including 14% from three.

Well I am a Bucks and Raptors fan, so I watch a lot of Andrea Bargnani.
I have no idea what is wrong with him, hes been in a slump for over one month. In all fairness to him though, Sam Mitchell has been giving him very small amount of minutes and not letting him develop.
Get this, Sam Mitchell refuses to even give him junktime minutes. I know that Bargnani is still a good player and has great potential, but for the past month he has been playing like absolute trash. Hes not even having average games anymore, not even average. Hes games have gotten to a level where they are just pathetic.
I would love a trade for him, because he definatley has talent and just needs a coach who is willing to be patient and let him develop.

Barfnani is bottoming out Adam Morrison style.
Imagine the Raps with Brandon Roy.
Colangelo is a perfect GM.

I don't know why we care about this on the Bucks board.

We care because it's Shadenfreude and we get pleasure from the similar misery of others.....
Since a few of our guys have touted BC as a genius the last few years we are enjoying seeing him knocked down a peg.....
And of course we've all struggled with Bogut not living up to expectations.....
All that said, I'd gladly trade Redd to Toronto for Bargs and Parker.

No GM gets them all right. Ron Wolf was arguably the best NFL GM of his time and he couldn't make a good first-round pick to save his life. Colangelo has proven how good he is and that goes without saying. Or should. If he flops with Bargnani, it will be a black mark on his resume but hardly an indication he now sucks as a GM.
Back to Bargnani, I'm stunned by how bad he's been this season. I keep wondering what happened to the guy who was playing so well last season before his appendectomy. He was really coming on but ever since then he's looked completely lost most of the time.

No I agree....but you'd have to say at this moment, a number of his recent moves haven't panned out like they looked like they would. Essentially that team is Bosh and Jose driving the bus....two guys that were there before he got there.
He's a good GM....and if you look at the good GM's, it seems like 2 out 3 moves they make don't work.....you just have to hit on a couple big ones. And he has in his past.

Well this is an NBA forum, I see no reason why former number one overall picks aren't legit discussion.
Especially since we got the number one overall pick the year before and therefore have seen numerous comparisons.

I think he has made plenty of questionable moves.
Drafting Bargnani with the number one pick, then shattering his confidence. I don't know what he was thinking with the Kapono deal either.

Bargs just really isn't very good. I remember the arguments from people saying he will no question be better than Yi earlier in the year. I wouldn't trade Yi for him in a million years. Hell, I wouldn't trade CV for him. Neither CV or Bargs can defend but at least CV can rebound and has the ability to take PF's off the dribble.

They just need a head coach like Rick Carlisle.
