Around the NBA 1/21

Got to watch Randolph today, god I'm glad we aren't getting that turd.

Watching Bulls/Grizz right now. I think the Grizz have a very bright future despite their record. They have a lot of young players with great potential, and the rest of their players are still assets. Conley is going to be special, and Gay IS special, Battier is good, but Gay is A LOT better.

Cavs at Heat later. LeTravel vs D'Whistle. I hope the refs brought spare whistles, you know, just in case.

What about Randolph's 24/15/4/2 game makes him a turd? Just curious.

See my post in the Randolph thread. Basically he stagnated the offense, even the Knicks announcers were talking about how much ball movement the offense had until Zach went into his "shoot mode". They even once made a comment about how it would be acceptable if he "only" shot 1 time for every 4 times he got the ball.

He also had 4 turnovers and 8-18 is NOT overly efficient for such a heralded post player like Randolph.

Sometimes stats just don't tell the whole story (look at CV's line tonight).

4 TOs? Randolph is a high turnover guy, not really surprising.

What is surprising is 4 steals for a PF. That's almost unheard of.

And we all know one game means a ton. Nevermind his .7 career average.

He shoots between 44%-46% from the floor typically. That's terrible for a post player. He is way over-rated as a post scorer in my opinion. He's being compared to Boozer in this forum and that's ridiculous given how Boozer has never shot under 52% from the floor and has shot as high as 56%.

People want to add a selfish, low-efficiency, bad defensive player to this core of guys, that is what blows my mind out of the water.

Ryan Gomes had a career night tonight, On the basketball show Babcock said it came down to drafting Ersan, Gomes, or Monta Ellis. Babcock said they had Mo and TJ at the time, plus Ellis had some pretty risky medical issues that scared off alot of teams, never comented on Gomes. it amazes me with players like Gomes and Kleiza, to just name a couple, the Bucks can't find a SF worth a damn, and they have spent a ton of $$ on that position.

I was a huge Gomes guy before that draft. He's the guy I wanted. Just a horrible decision by the Bucks in my opinion to take Ilyasova instead. He'd be a nice role player on this team.

So Zach was the reason they lost today, to arguably the best team in the NBA?

On paper (I didn't watch this game), it looks like he was the only player that did anything remotely well today. Who would you rather have shoot the ball? Jamal Crawford? Fred Jones? Nate Robinson and David Lee looks like they had good games, but I doubt Zach was the reason they didn't score 30+ each.

We **** ourselves when Bogut has a 24/15/2 game, even if we lose, so let's put his game in perspective.

Very true. With the exception of Charlie Bell the Bucks haven't done a good job of finding good value players who can be a big part of a winning team. This is where you have to get creative. A productive second round pick is great, but there are other guys out there that can help a team win. I suggested going after Anthony Parker when he was killing it in Europe a couple years ago, and he's been a very nice player for the raptors. Jamario Moon is doing big things on a minimum deal for the for them this year. Ime Udoka did the same thing playing for peanuts in Portland two seasons ago. These guys are out there, the Bucks just don

13 point and 4 rebounds at the half......can't believe we talk about garbage ball hogs like Zach Randolph when there are players who could really help, that are so much more worthwhile to look at.......oh and Kleiza is a nasty SOB as well, something this team lacks.

Bogut wanted Kleiza.

Boozer's PG is Daron Williams. Zack's PG is Marbury
Boozer has Okur at C to spread a floor. Zack has fat ass Curry

It is unbelivable how people ignore context

So how do you explain their career percentages?

One is in terrible situation his entire career and one is in perfect situation. What is so strange about that? We should all know how important is situation that surround you. Just look at Bogut.

Boozer is better player no doubt. But considering what we are giving for Zack in this rumored trade, I think it is silly to not consider everything here.

I have been back and forth with this trade. At the end of day I still don't do that but only because I still have some hope for Bobby. But if you think that Bobby is worthless than you do this trade ASAP

35 pts on .733 shooting, 11 ft made (.917) and 2 3pts made (1.000) + 11 rebs, 3 ass

Nice pickup for my fantasyteam :-)

We def. could have used this guy

Randolph has also played with Steve Blake, who I believe you have raved and raved and raved about in this forum.

Randolph is a poor FG% shooter for his position. Historically that has been the case regardless of his teams or who he has played with. It's who he is. The only people ignoring anything are the ones who are ignoring his proven history in this league.
