Bucks are not going to this year's playoff. So isn't it time to develop young players?

I would give guys like Bogut, Yi heavy minutes. They are the future of this Bucks team. Let them play together for better chemistry.

2.Hire T.Thebodeau as Bogut's trainer at all cost
3.Hire a personal trainer for Yi.

There are two spectrums in the NBA, you're either in the playoffs or you're in the lottery. If you're not in the playoffs, it obviously does very little good in regards to helping the future of your franchise to be just outside the playoff bracket. Therefore, if we're not going to make the playoffs (we're not) I'd rather have us really suck the rest of the year. Yes, it doesn't guarantee anything, but the chances are much better.

And it was the difference between Yi (who will be a top 4 player in this draft) and a scrub last year, so I will argue that it does matter.

The other point I will make is that the more games we lose this year, the higher chance of change with regards to this teams core and philosophy in the offseason. I want absolutely no reason for management or ownership to try and rationalize this core coming back.

I like Yi and I think he'll be a good player but frankly I'm sick of tanking. Twice in the last three years is enough. I'm sick of trips to the lottery and never going anywhere. I've just had enough of the endless cycle the Bucks remain mired in.

Agreed. But we're not going to make the plaoyffs europa. It's better for the future of the team to have a better pick. Winning mid 30's in the NBA is literally the worst case scenario for any team, in my opinion. You're not in the playoffs and 95% of the time you also can't add a player that can really help you.

I never at any time believed this was a playoff team. Given the moves that were made last summer (or lack thereof) I've always believed unfortunately that the Bucks were headed to the lottery again. I'm just sick of banking on the lottery year after year after year. Look at the Hawks. It took them eight years before they finally started showing signs of life despite yearly trips to the lottery. I'm just tired of wasting season after season and hoping that one night in June provides all the answers and reasons for optimism.

I'm sick of it as well, I'm just stating what is best for this organization as of today given the state of affairs. More losses means a better pick and a better chance of change. If they go on a huge run here in the second half and barely miss the playoffs, I think it would be a nightmare.

This is just pure common sense. If your not in the playoffs do you want a 25% (?) at the number 1 pick or a 1% (?) chance? And if you don't win a top 3 pick in the lottery do you want your worse case scenario to be picking 4th or 13th? As far as what tanking got us last season...we picked 6th instead of 14th. While you can end up with a better player at 14th I think we'd agree that it is still better to draft 6th.

Could the anti-tankers please explain how the Bucks should acquire the talent to contend if not through the draft? As was mentioned, you either want to be good and in the playoffs or stink and get high picks. Finishing with 39 wins year after year and picking 12-14 is no way to build a team. And while sucking hasn't worked in the past for teams like the Hawks or Clippers does that mean it's a bad plan to tank or does it mean those teams are run by idiots that have no clue how to draft or build a team?

Why do tanking or finishing at 39 wins year after year have to be the only options? Why can't there be an option where the Bucks make the playoffs and then add the right pieces while gradually improving and going from a playoff team to a legitimate contender? I'd much prefer that option to wasting season after season in the lottery and hoping that maybe next year's trip to the lottery will be the one that really puts the team over the top.

We should make trades that send out our crap for a productive player. Oh wait, they hate that too.

MD and PP you guys should ban who ever makes a thread about tanking only idiots and not true fans say tank......having the worse record doesn't mean nothing it's like last year has taught you guys nothing ...so sad.
