I don't often post trade ideas but I was struck by this quote from Wiz coach Eddie Jordan:

"He can score 37 every night and he controls the game for them," Jordan said of Redd, who did just that in a win over Indiana on Thursday. "He is a major weapon to contend with. We did some things up there last time that helped us without Redd but the things we did last time probably won't work this time."

Got me thinking, plus the recent discussion of Grunfeld (who we can imagine is a fan of Redd).

So, here goes (this checks out in the Trade Checker):

MKE GIVES:
Michael Redd
Charlie Villanueva
1st Rd Pick

WASHINGTON GIVES:
Caron Butler
Nick Young
Darius Songaila

Why for MKE? Easy; nets us an All-Star caliber SF, nice backup PF, and in Nick Young our SG of the future. Breaks up our backcourt.

Why for WASHINGTON? Certainly this is less easy to understand but perhaps they can be sold on the idea that Redd is more or less = Butler, that CV has a higher upside then Songaila. Plus a front line of Blatche/CV could be effective down the road. And the 1st rd pick is more or less = N. Young. Also the prospect of an Arenas/Redd backcourt is pretty huge.

MKE:
Mo/Ivey
Young/Bell
Butler/Simmons
Yi/Songaila
Bogut/Gadz

WSH
Arenas/Mason
Redd/Daniels
Stevenson
Jamison/CV
Haywood/Blatche

Wizards fan here...we'll trade you Etan Thomas for a bag of peanuts and call it a night.

If the Wizards front office has seen how two scorers in the backcourt has been working for milwaukee, i'm sure they'd pass on this deal. No way does an Arenas Redd backcourt work. That might be worse than a mo redd 1, 2 punch

stellar trade, that would be amazing id say pick top 5 portected and call it a day. mo,young, butler,yi,bogut. not sure if a young mo backcourt is better defensively but it couldn't be worse.

go see what the wiz board says, im sure they wont want to give up c butler.

All I gotta say is that I'm watching Quentin Tarentino's "From Dusk Till Dawn" and this movie is **** crazy. I saw George Clooney and Selma Hayek and thought it'd be decent, but then everyone turned into vampires and some crazy **** started going down.

Wiz fan here and I say no way. I dont mean it in a disrespectful way but I think thats a really bad trade for us. I think Caron is better then Redd. CV is pretty good but we already have good young bigs in Blatche & Pecherov. NY looks like he will definatly be a 20pt scorer in this league one day

Caron Butler is 5 times the player Redd is.
