OT: THE WIRE is on FIRE

WOW.........this show is great.

They know how to make you hate a guy like Marlo. This show is making up for the Soprano's let down.

Don't want to spoil it, but if you haven't seen the latest one you must see it.

Yeah.. I'm kind of sad that this is the last season.

Me too..........and when Avon made a special appearance I thought "it's about to be on".......then he let me down by helping Marlo out. :(

I love the inside look in Journalism added on to the politics this season. I know the writer's have an agenda, but it is still well done.

We got HBO late, so I didn't get into the Sopranos and Six Feet Under phenomena, and since then I just keep forgetting to check out any shows on HBO/Showtime/etc. I've heard nothing but fantastic things about The Wire, but I don't have the time to watch the first 4 seasons and try to catch up with the final one. Sometime down the road, maybe.

This is definitely my favorite show right now. The Wire and Dexter are probably my two favorite shows ever.

That being said, some of the writing in season 5 is shoddy at best. Some of what bothers me doesn't happen until episodes 5, 6, and 7, so I won't comment further.

I have always really wanted to get into the wire, but I missed the first season. I know I can rent them on DVD and plan to, it's just not on the top of my list. At some point in my life, I will watch this.

I'm looking forward to catching up with this last season hopefully before too long, they've been on fire most of the whole time. Spoilers don't kill me but I've stayed away from reading about it, except I heard the main idea that they're looking at the media this season.

Other than that I'm sure they're doing a cool job wrapping everything up (or a cool enough job not wrapping everything up if you also watched the Sopranos).

Omar, McNulty and the Bunk cracked me up so many times, and there are always a lot of interesting black/white/gray areas to think about.

It is true that if the strike does not end that Entourage will be cancelled.

Most likely it will return in 2009.
