Anyway we could make an official Redd trade thread? I hate starting new thread for every trade idea. Then again, I know MD hates stickys. Just asking.

1.
Redd - Gadzuric

for

Ben Wallace - Andres Nocioni

2a.
CV - Voskuhl

for

Kapono - 1st rounder

2b.
CV - Simmons

for

Kapono - Garbajosa - Graham

Ivey
Mo
Nocioni
Yi
Bogut

Bell
Wallace
Mason
Kapono
Simmons or Voskuhl
Ruffin

Sessions
Noel

The Redd trade threads rise and fall on their own merits.......

I'd do both deals. Easily.

But if the Redd stock market has a lower value right now, then I'd do Wallace/Noc for Redd/CV. That move has appeal to me because we need a banger, and even a half alive Ben Wallace can still bang around for 20-25 minutes.

The other one is the New York deal.

Redd/CV for Jamaal Crawford/Lee/Balkman.....

Actually as we think these through, tonight I'm more inclined to like the Knicks deal. Yes, I know I'll get flamed away about Crawford, but he's 6-5", a very active player and he can pass the ball. So you get a bit less efficient version of Redd's gunning but a guy who can do more things for us in a ball movement offense.

Really?

I thought ditching a year of Bobby's contract would make it worth it.

I'll edit the initial trade back in.

My fault...I wasn't processing the trades as a pairing and then thinking we'd have the SF position covered by Noc and Dez. I was looking at it more stand alone and figuring I'd rather keep Simmons and get the Raptors first round pick.

The only flaw in the trade is that Toronto most likely won't take CV back even though their fans would love it.

I don't know why they wouldn't.

Bargs is terrible. He's a fan favorite. He played his best ball there. He's still young and cheap. They wouldn't be giving much up for him (bad contract).

Although he's not European, so you're probably correct.

why kapono?
he does nothing but shoot 3s
although you are right that toronto doesn't want to keep him and they like CV
but CV overlap with Bosh though

Okay, my turn:

1. Redd/Gadz for Granger/Murphy/Daniels.

This would turn the Pacers into a contender, I think. Elite-ish players in Redd and O'Neal would put them in the running for a 4 seed. Gadz might provide productive minutes behind Foster.

For us, we get our SF for the future.

2. CV/Bobby for Lee/Q-Rich/Jones.

Knicks probably don't do this, but who knows - maybe they want to make a change, and see hometown kid CV's potential (which there is a lot of).

We get our rugged dirty-work guy, but yeah, a bad contract too.

And then later on:

3. Mo/Daniels(?) for Battier/filler

Obviously, I haven't put as much thought into this one, but it looks like Houston's going nowhere, and they need a PG. I'm not sure if Battier's working out for them as they'd like.

It's true we'd be stuck under some crappy contracts. And it's true that Bogut/Granger/Lee would be up for contracts at the same time. But the beauty of this is that all of the big contracts except Murphy expire right when it's time to pay Bogut/Granger/Lee.

Next step, we tank hard. And grab us Rose in the lottery (some wishful thinking).

This gives us:

Which gives us:

Bogut/Ruffin
Yi/Lee/Murphy
Granger/Battier
Q-Rich/Bell
Rose/Sessions/Ivey

That's Portland east!

(Okay, I'm back from fantasy-world)

There is a small chance for trade one...probably not.

Trade 2 with all due respect, in Isiah's stupidity he has still blocked including David Lee in almost any trade...even for stars.

I would honestly trade CV for Gus Johnson to do our play-by-play(he does some Knicks games)...I would watch every single game just for that.

The Lakers have to make a move I am guessing. They are in the playoffs now but with their 9 game road trip coming up and Bynum out for two months, I could see them making a move. Now I have no idea if Redd could be traded to them but to me I would think we could possibly pull off a move like

Simmons, CV, and Gadz
for
Kwame, Javaris, and Vlad

Something like that or maybe a slimmed down version of that could help the Lakers be a little extra competitive and stay in the playoff hunt while allowing us to dump Bobby for an expiring in Kwame, CV for Javaris, and trade bad contracts to see if Vlad and Gad can get a little better in new environments.

After visiting the Lakers board, most of them want Odom out. Maybe expand that deal and do

Redd, Simmons, CV, and Gadz
for
Odom, Kwame, Javaris, Vlad, and a protected first

To me that seems fair. Am I crazy? Oh and I knows its very unrealistic but I honestly think that could make both teams better in the short term and in the long run.
