Some of the questions and answers

Q: Michael McCarter of Milwaukee - What do the Milwaukee Bucks need to win the NBA Championship in the near future? Who would you like to see the Bucks trade in a package or blockbuster deal? Michael Redd or Maurice Williams? Who would you like to get in return so they can win the Eastern Conference Title at the Bradley Center?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi Michael, Winning the Eastern Conference title is a distant goal, it appears. I'm not sure the Bucks can made a blockbuster deal right now or one that will instantly transform the team. It's more likely they might make a smaller trade, perhaps trading one of their forwards. There could be a logjam for playing time at small forward with Bobby Simmons, Desmond Mason and Royal Ivey, who has guarded small forwards and played in a three-guard lineup. Charlie Villanueva is in this mix, too, and might be discussed in possible trades. Mason is slated to return in the next few weeks (thumb surgery) and is making progress.
Q: Arsenio of Los Angeles - How would you grade Larry Harris' performance over his tenure when it comes to 1) Draft 2) Free Agency 3) Re-signings 4) Assembling a competitive team?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi Arsenio, Sometimes you have to wait a while to judge draft choices. Andrew Bogut is a great case in point. Now in his third year, Bogut is beginning to produce consistently and is a legitimate threat in the paint. He had 18 points and 15 rebounds on Sunday against the Wizards' Brendan Haywood, a lanky center who has given Bogut problems in the past. Trading the 2006 first-round pick in the Jamaal Magloire deal doesn't look so great, but the pick of Yi was a winner (and made despite widespread second-guessing). In free agency, the Simmons and Gadzuric signings have haunted Harris, in part due to Simmons' injury last season. The signings of Redd and Mo Williams were critical to keeping the team competitive.
Q: Mark of Chicago - How serious is his injury and how many games is Michael Redd likely to miss?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi Mark, I talked to Redd after practice today and he said he thought he would miss just two more games and play on Saturday against Houston. He will not make the trip to New Jersey and Philly. He said his strength in his left leg was down after he suffered the thigh bruise earlier this month, and he thought that contributed to his knee weakness. But it's not as serious as occurred with the patellar tendon strain last year. That's the good news.
Q: Joe of Milwaukee - Is there a rift on the team regarding the type of offensive sets they run? Reading the stories lately it seems that Krystkowiak wants to run the offense through Bogut, but Redd doesn't like that plan because he doesn't get as many touches. Am I accurate in my assessment?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi Joe, I think it's a balancing act. Redd needs to get his chances, but so does Bogut as he has emerged as a strong threat. Redd wasn't too happy that he only got three shots in the fourth quarter against the Suns and sat out 4 minutes in the quarter in a close defeat. I believe that prompted the meeting the next night with coach Krystkowiak. Redd played the entire fourth quarter in a close game against Indiana. In an ideal world, the Bucks offense will run through both of them and be clicking better than it has to this point.
Q: Yoshii8 of Madison, WI - Since Michael Redd is the Bucks most known player, and with their 4-1 record without him, do you see a chance of him being dealt before the trade deadline?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi Yoshii, I could be wrong, but I don't think Redd will be traded before the deadline. Remember the Bucks were 3-17 with Redd out of the lineup in January and February of last season.
Q: Spenser of The Couch - In Tom Enlund's Power Rankings this week under the bucks he says" Redd,Larry K talk it out" I searched past articles, found nothing...whats the 411 ?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi Spenser, That was a reference to the pre-game meeting between Redd and coach Krystkowiak on Thursday, before the victory over the Pacers. That was covered by Tom in the Bucks game story the following day, in the Friday newspaper.
Q: EJ of Brooklyn - It seems that Redd is being unfairly accused of being selfish by fans and the coaching staff. Do the Bucks run enough plays that allow Redd to take shots within the offense?
A: Charles Gardner - Hi EJ, Good question. I think that was a source of Redd's frustration after the Phoenix game, that he was getting chances within the offense in the third quarter but it didn't happen as much in the fourth.

Gardner is a soccer reporter who fills in when Enlund needs a nap. Both are horrible basketball writers.
The JS has some good Packer writers and Haudricourt is a good baseball writer but when it comes to the Bucks we get Enlund/Gardner and Hunt before that.
Haudricourt was on Homers show today for a half hour talking about the Brewers. I don't always agree with him but he knows his stuff and is entertaining on the radio. He's covered the Brewers since 1985 and still has a passion for them.
Ever hear Enlund or Gardner on the radio talking Bucks? Me either.
Woelfel is wrong more than he's right with his "inside" info but at least he cares about the Bucks.
MJS Bucks Coverage =

OT, but I just remembered there was a Brewer special on 1250 tonight with Tim Allen and Sparky...if anyone listened to it they should post a recap on the Brewer board.
