Say that the Bucks made the trade for Zach Randolph and Balkman for Gadz and Simmons. I know most people were even against this trade, but now that Kidd has asked to be traded (and not solely to a contender as he is a classy guy and knows the Nets need to get something in return that will ultimately help their franchise as well) I think we should and could have made a run at him if we would have obtained Randolph. Something like Mo/CV/08 first for Kidd(may have to be a third team for cap reasons). We would then have a lineup of Kidd/Redd/Balkman/Randolph/Bogut. I think with Kidd as the facilitator we would have been a dangerous team and would be a contender in the watered down east. Having Kidd run the show would diminish the consistent ball-hog mentality of Redd and Randolph as the ball would always start in the hands of Kidd once it crosses half court. I would have loved to see a line-up like this and believe Kidd would have averaged around 15 assists per game with the shooters(primarily Redd) and the ability of the post players to finish around the basket. This would not be for just one season either, it would have given us hope next year as well. Anyways I was just wondering about your thoughts on the issue and how feasible this may have been had we got Randolph a week or two ago.

if nothing else, it would have been more interesting than reading about petty bickering, infighting, and tales of inept upper management being advised by misplaced generals.

It is a sad commentary on my life, but with the bucks sucking as bad as they do, I am honestly a little less happy in general. At least this would have made it interesting again.

Sure if you can GUARANTEE the bucks could get kidd, then I would take on randolph.

However, I don't see any way kidd would come to the bucks, but he's about the only guy that could keep randolph and bogut fed in the post.

I still don't want Zach, but I do desperately want Kidd. I know we won't get him, but I'd love for us to at least make a play for him, although I'm sure I'll be disappointed there too. I don't really see that the two are linked though, getting Kidd isn't dependant on having Zach imo, if anything to get Kidd we would be looking to shed some salary, not take another big chunk on.
