OT - Gasol to Lakers
What a freakin steal! I can't believe they got him for that package. Is Memphis trying to corner the market on PGs or what?

The Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly traded big man Pau Gasol to the Lakers for F/C Kwame Brown, G Javaris Crittenton and first-round picks in 2008 and 2010.

Wow they gave up an expiring piece of crap, a young PG (they already have Fisher and Farmar) and two late 1sts?
Memphis is **** stupid.

The two first round picks aren't going to hurt much when they're in the playoffs every year from now one
They got Gasol and didn't even have to send out Odom, Walton, Bynum or any other contributor of any sort?
Mitch Kupchak just saved his job
was his job ever in danger after the break out of bynum? Bynum is looking to compete with Howard for best big man in the league for the next decade...I think Kupchak is doing ok.

Only a few short months ago Kobe was tearing him apart in the media.

???????
It's possible. As I said in the thread the other day when people were drooling over Crittenton, I don't think he's a true point. He has the tools to play point, though, if he really works at it. The iffy "p" word, IMO - potential. I wouldn't be shocked if some point is in his future. Right now I think he's just a "guard."
My instincts could prove wrong in the future, but that was most certainly my opinion of him coming out of college. I wish he would have stayed. $$ is too alluring.
