The reason why the Bucks is a struggling team has much to do with the missing leadership. To me, Michael Redd is just a pure shooter.

Example of real leaders are ones like Kobe, LeBron, Tmac, Iverson, Arenas. Not only that they can score, they are the team facilitator.

Make no mistake, I'm not saying Redd sucks. He is a very good scorer. But he just lacks leadership. Do you folks agree?

I'm not sure I like your list of "real leaders".

Were a bad team with him and were a bad team without him. I think the whole leadership thing is overrated anyway. I have watched games where guys have been yelling at other guys to get into position and also have put the team on their shoulders for periods of time. Mo and Bogut specifically have done this and have become a little more vocal on the court.

But has it resulted in any more wins? No. I think the whole we dont have a leader thing is just another excuse for the truth and that is that this team is just not very good right now. And you could bring in a guy with leadership skills or no leadership skills...all that matters is if he can play ball better than the guys we have and and at the same time fit in with the other players on the court.

I can use Kobe as an example of possessing leadership quality. In the locker room, he yells at his teammates for better performance. He has openly criticized his team and the management.

Over the summer, he called his teammate Andrew Bynam a "pussy", referring to the big 7-footer as a soft ass. The impact was huge. Bynum has played better since.

Michael Redd has never had basketball leadership so I highly doubt he'll ever learn such a trait. Just watch when a shot doesn't go down for him, he either looks for a nonexistent foul or hangs his head. Someday, someone with the Bucks, coach or GM or Kohl will realize he will never be a leader and is not a player who should have a franchise tag on him. He's good but maybe to the team's detriment at this time. Hardly beyond tradable

At first that had me thinking he was deliberately using bad leaders to show that great leaders may have bad leadership qualities, but then I remembered his posts from elsewhere on the site, and I actually think he is serious.

You have two leaders on that list and they're not the names of McGrady, Iverson or Arenas.

As for Redd ?? NO..

Bogut is the closest thing the Bucks have to a leader.. And it's more in lines of at least stepping up and saying something.. As for ON-COURT ??? I don't see one..

One thing I think people may over look with Redd is how many friends he has around the league. The Bucks definitely use him as a tool to try and attract free agents. Everybody around the league seems to know and like Redd. I know he was in Mike Conley's ear about Milwaukee before the draft trying to sell him on the city/organization.
