Another veiled dig at LK from a high-scoring, low IQ Buck

Mo's comments after the game about just playing and not thinking echo Redd's criticism after that one-on-one meeting before the Pacers game. Apparently they both think LK is stifling their games and are frustrated.

I think BB IQ is a misnomer, what people are really referring to is BB instinct. IQ is about thinking but the point of "BB IQ" is doing the right think without thinking. Redd and Mo don't, and asking them to is not going to help because it just messes with the way they play.

Stotts could get 45 wins out of this squad but that's not really what I want either, I think the Bucks should get rid of at least one starting guard.

yeah when they say "we just like to play, no thinking" that means they just like to shoot, this is so dumb our two shot happy players make dumb comments against terrible teams. LK isn't stiffling their games he is just putting reins on them like a coach should. he is trying to get them to play as a 5-5 team not a 2-5 team.

yeah for a little while redd decided no to shoot 20 shots a game, but he didn't do anything else he is just a little pissy b****, ok team i won't shoot and lets see how we do. well redd instead of just not shooting why don't you do something else to help the team like drive and kick, just beacuse your not shooting doesn't mean your helping the team.

by the way that indiana game where redd was so happy everyone got involved he went 13-29. 30 SHOTS REDD REALLY. this team sucks mo and redd need to go. get a coach in here thayt demands respect.

We talkin about the guy that told our guards not to hesitate to shoot when they're open?

Luke...you need to add the quote to your post so it has easy reference for us....

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=715095

"I just played," Williams said. "Just played. I wasn't thinking.

"You can't think and play this game, for me at least. I wasn't thinking, I was just playing. Just make the right plays by instinct. That's when I'm at my best."

This is probably the Mo quote that Europa has been looking for to work into the mega thread....... :)

Basically Mo is telling the world he wants to run free like Stotts let him last year....be a shoot first PG....in a faster paced game.

I can't argue with him. He's more effective that way.....but it doesn't fit with what Larry K. wants done.....

umm, pp, did you not follow much the criticisms of Stotts once removed. Bell and LK said the offense required too much thinking and was too complex. Maybe it looked willy-nilly to you, but it was far from so. LK stated he wanted less thinking and more instinctual behaving. Just the opposite of what you are now saying. Again you are allowed your opinions, of course, but not your own fact.

I love how people here like to call Mo', Redd and others low IQ players, when they probably forgot more about Basketball then some of you will ever know.

I think the claimed complexity Larry K. is referring to last year was code for "Mo and Redd shoot too much on ISO's and we spend too damn much time setting multiple screens for those guys to free them up"

Sure, if that gets you through the night. Of course, how do you then explain being in the top 5 for shots and points in the lane? No, contrary to your impressions, some offenses have very detailed spacing and timing.

Let's play what's my line:

Who said this?

"We were more up-tempo tonight, more loose. Just playing. He really just let me go, let me play, let me loose."

I think that was Redd after he had like 35

Yes...that's Redd after the Indy game.....

Since both he and Mo feel stifled by Larry K., maybe both could use a new address.....sell high.

That proves my point on what you just said and what I have been saying for the last 3 months now...

They have no basketball IQ or instincts on this team. I am trying to be nice and water it down but I can't!

Mo nor Redd are very sharp minded players if you are gonna build this team around Bogut and Yi with a young inexperineced coach!

I don't know how many times I have to say that. Some teams can get away with that if they have superstar talent. Neither Mo nor Redd are Superstars in that way...

They do not play that way. They have one skill...THEY CAN BOTH SHOOT. That is it. And on a good night you can even take that away from them...

But so what, they can't stop anybody, or outthink or outwit and outwork their man to win games when everything is equal or if the shots stop falling in the 4th qtr which they always do!!!

So what darn difference does it make? No one can get to the line and make a game winning play with their heads, hearts, hands, feet, or sheer willpower when push comes to shove!

That is what separates DWade, T-Mac, Lebron, guys like CPaul, Deron in Utah, Baron in Oakland, and even guys like Ron Artest and some others like even young guns like Iguodala in Philly, JJ in Atlanta and Brandon Roy are learning to do on a consistent basis!

A good scout and talent evaluator can see this in players. I can and I am not even in the NBA in any capacity, but as a fan EVEN I KNOW IT WHEN I SEE IT!

It is that "it factor' NEITHER OF THEM HAVE! The only guy who had 'it' who was here was TJ FORD...and Terry Porter they traded him away and fired the other!!!

Porter made the playoffs what, 15-17 straight years as a player and an assistant? They are not good enough to take a team to .500 just letting them do their thing.

It might make them rich but does nothing for the team...They need a star to make them better which Kohl does not want to go out and get.

isn't every player better when they're allowed to just react instead of thinking about everything first?

the more i read about bucks players, the more i just want to implode the entire team. none of these guys really want to be a team. they just want to do what comes naturally. They want to win sure, but they don't want to do what it takes to win. I don't really think these guys know what it takes to win. they've been skating along all their lives just on pure talent.

UCONN's coach was critical of CV's inconsistant play and wasn't too upset he left early.

Alabama's record with Mo was mediocre both years he was there.

Ohio St was not a powerhouse with redd as their main man.

Bogut's Utah was great against the lesser teams of the world and folded when it counted.

Do any of the Bucks know anything about how to win? Charlie? then again, he's too pissed off to care anymore.

I think a winning mentality is a huge intangible that is often (unfortunately) overlooked and slighted. I think the Bucks badly need a proven leader who knows how to win at the NBA level. Right now the only thing they're doing is learning how to lose.

A lot.

Regardless if Mo and Redd have bad basketball IQ's. They do know that Stotts got a hell of a lot more out of this offense then Larry K is getting. They also know this team is at it's best playing up-tempo basketball.

Look at the players we currently have.....

Mo - Up tempo type PG.
Redd - can do either
Dez - Ideal for a run and gun offense
Simmons - Can do both. The benefit of him in a run and gun offense is his ability to hit the spot up 3.
Yi - Up tempo
CV - Up tempo
Bogut - Can do both, but he's very good in the open court as a center.
Bell - Can do both but better in a up tempo style,

Yet, we're trying to slow things down. It's like trying to make a sprinter run a marathon.
