6PM

1250AM

Larry Harris is on unless he cancels last second.

I'll be able to listen and will post what I can.

I'll probably call in, post any suggestions for questions or topics.

I'm thinking I might ask about will CV continue to start as he's been outplaying Yi for awhile now.

Suggested question:
What's wrong the Bucks Trainers and Medical staff not being able to keep our players on the floor?

Ask LH how he feels about Bogut basically calling out the "injured" players on not being as hurt as they let on.

Doug Russell subs for Sparky tonight. Gery Woeffel and Larry Harris as guests......

Caller: Larry, are you going to blow it up? Should the team be blown up?

Larry: The trading deadline is coming up......We are looking...we are active now....there are things this team needs......but we aren't going to "blow it up". I think seeing the core players of Mike, Mo, Andrew and Yi are the four core pieces.......four players we can look forward to and be excited about.

Russell: "We've gone nowhere with Redd for many years"

Larry: "We are struggling to score points. To eliminate him just isn't a sound decision.....why would we build this up just to trade him.......we aren't in a Memphis mode where you try to get draft picks.......Will I listen to things? Yeah.....but people need to realize this is Larry K's first year.....Bogut starting to come on.....Mo coming on.....CV wants the ball.....and now it is a bit overwhelming for a young coach......but moving Michael Redd not the direction we want to go now.

Larry saying nobody has inquired about Redd made me laugh because he immediately went on record to say 'and it's not because nobody wants him...it's just we're not in that mode right now'. Sure Larry, we'll believe everything in that sentence.

Russell: Trade deadline coming on Feb. 21st.....is it frustrating to see the Pau deal go down? i.e. why couldn't we get Gasol?

Larry:"There was nothing we could duplicate like the Lakers....no Kwame Brown expiring....no Aaron McKie contract that we could fill in......

...You need to wait out the storm until we get to D-day.....most trades not until the deadline......I never make a call to other GM's for a "fishing exhibition".......no one wants to give you real value since you value your players more than the other guy......many trade calls are so outlandish they don't make it to the Senator...

That is the frightening bit. Really, why should skilled players have to wait for a guy with practically no experience to become a coach? Someone with 10 to 15 years as an assistant would get some slack ... oh, hang on ... Terry?

Eastside calling in:"Is there a chemistry problem with this team since Bogut now the focus of the offense...."

Larry:"Everyone wants to score....coaching takes advantage of mismatches.....we've established over the last ten years that we are a perimeter shooting team.....now we've decided that Bogut is a guy who has delivered inside......

...When you go inside out it causes a double team....we need to continue to give the ball to Andrew....he's unselfish and other people then get better shots......if we continue inside game with Mo and the pick n roll game....then add in Michael......Larry K. needs to get all three of our main players to buy into the program and get consistency.

...Bogut has now shown that if you pass it inside into him, he'll be unselfish......

I met with our starters ten days ago....talked about chemistry....these guys are frustrated because they want to win.....all these guys get along....but we lack internal leadership and mental toughness and we struggle with that....

As far as the injury situation....our doctors and trainers do a tremendous job.....they tell Larry K. and I whether guys can practice or play. If the doctor says things are ok, then we ask the player....and if the player says he's injured...well then he doesn't play. We can't tell a player who says he's injured and make him play.....

Now we have all this medicine to determine things....like plantar faacitis, tendonitis, etc.....so guys don't play....maybe they played with these conditions in the past....

Yea the coaching thing with the Bucks is getting realy old.

Yea,we have to wait for Larry K because he is a young coach with no experiance. :banghead:

The problem I have along with probably everyone else is that in 2 years from now we'll be waiting for the next young unproven coach for the Milwaukee Bucks to get some experiance.

Gotta love when your GM flat out says we "have no internal leadership"

well he did say "there's not a lot of internal leadership." A small distinction, I know. I was more interested that he called the team on it's "lack of mental toughness."

btw, great job on the transcribing, PP.

You have to love the fact the Williams and Redd need to be "convinced" to go inside out, great players who are unselfish, know how to win should be able to see it by themselves, not have to be convinced.

PP got my call quoted pretty well.

Just the fact that he had to sit down with the starters and assess the situation means there's been issues.

I thought Harris' answer was pretty thorough and he remembered everything I asked about.

Another caller telling Harris to blow it up.

Caller:"Admission that we don't have a leader...no toughness...not enough balls to go around.....tells me this team going nowhere.....we need to drop a bomb on it and start again......

Larry: "Let's not get lost that our starting five is the 3rd or 4th youngest in the NBA.....and coach is a first year coach.....I don't sugarcoat things....but looking at the silver lining......

...Everyone thought Bogut a bust.....many people have now changed their minds.....

....Yi labeled as soft.....but at age 20 I was soft....Yi WILL be an all-star before he gets to his fifth season......

....My responsibility to add players like Ruffin and Voskuhl to add toughness......mental toughness comes with maturity.....for the most part our guys have tried to compete hard....

We do not have a leader internally....that needs to develop.....Redd trying....Bogut learning....Mo learning to be a leader....either you have it or you don't......but a 20-year old can't step in and do that.....

You are being closed minded about Michael Redd.....can't just give him away....closed minded is not taking phones calls (re trade)...I take phone calls...always listening...but certainly not going to give players away to met some "blowup concept"

Gery: "What if great Redd offer came your way?"

Larry:"I like our players....but I'm not closed minded"

I'm not listening right now, but why cant someone call in and ask why the eff do the Milwaukee Bucks keep hiring unproven rookie coaches when we could go after a guy like Larry Brown?
