Trade With Utah

Would you guys do this trade?
Milwaukee gets:
Ronnie Brewer
Matt Harpring
Paul Milsap
Utah gets:
Michael Redd
Dan Gadzuric
i think it's a fair trade. Utah gets a need at C to backup Boozer and Okur who can block some shots and Redd upgrades at SG for them. Brewer gives the Bucks defense at the position even tho his offense hasn't really come on yet but he's still young at 21 or 22. Harpring is a defensive minded SF who is a hustler and can shoot it at times, but is buried with Korver on board and AK. Milsap gives us energy, D, and a knack around the basket.
I'd like Kirilenko a lot, but he wants to stay and Utah. Things could change tho and if we could get him that would be awesome. But this would be a good enough deal for now if AK doesn't get traded. Your thoughts??

Not without getting AK would I do this.

Realistic or not, Utah is going for their 11th straight victory tonight. I would say with the run they are on and the trade for Korver, the only thing they might be looking for is a backup center.

We had a chance to make a deal better than this, and we did not. Too late.

[/b] True. So Gadzuric might be the only player that would appeal to them. It said in the ESPN rumors section that Utah was looking for a backup C to Okur and Boozer and one that could block shots. But do they have any players that we would want back in return or just get a draft pick or something?

I think its safe to say we'd be lucky to get peanut shells for Gadzuric at this point.

No way do we do this, in the future it pays off with Brewer but we will be out of the playoffs for two to three seasons

There's a good chance the Bucks could miss the playoffs for two to three seasons regardless...
If you're the Bucks, I don't see why you don't do this ?? It's not like you're going to get much for Redd anyways... Unless of course you're looking for draft picks, in which case turning this down makes sense..
Otherwise, it's not a bad deal for the Bucks...
For the Jazz on the other hand, it makes little to zero sense.. They're giving up a ton of defense and toughness for a shooter and a scrub... They got a shooter who fits more of the complimentary role they were looking for last month... Getting Redd doesn't fit...
Not only that, but Redd doesn't seem like a Sloan type of player IMO...

Haha, its like you read my mind. I was just going to come back to this thread and post the same damn things about our play off hopes and whether Redd would be a Sloan type player. That being said, I think we are getting screwed a little bit but there is a lot of upside if Brewer continues to improve.
My other thought is if it takes 2-3 years for Brewer to get good, who is to say in 2-3 years we still wont have bobby and gadz that will be nice expirings along with some nice young draft picks and future draft picks available where we cant pull of some deal like the Lakers did in getting Pau this year.
In my opinion we have two options at this point, blow it up this summer right away or at the deadline and trade Redd for a nice high draft pick and some expirings and other pieces or ride it out for 2-3 years and wait for our big crap contracts to become expiring deals while Yi and bogut continue to get better and we add some other nice young players and try to make a trade at that time like the Pau deal.

We could have drafted Milsap instead of Noel

Wasn't there a rumor that there was a trade of Michael for AK47 and Brewer before the season started? That would have been nice, but like somebody said, its too late. I'm starting to think we're not going to make a move till the offseason, and if we do, it won't be anything significant, like breaking up our backcourt or trading for an All-Star.

The Utah trade ship sailed six weeks ago when they traded for Korver.
I heard the other night Utah is 15-2 since bringing Korver on board....I think he went off for 27 points on Wednesday.
Utah did the right thing with their SG situation. They spent their money and assets on a C (Okur), and two PF's in Boozer and AK47.....put the high lotto pick on a great PG. Those are the impact positions on the court.
THEN when they needed the scoring SG, they spent a reasonable $6mm a year to get Korver.....and he's flourishing out there. Utah needs a Redd who will average $17mm a year for the next three seasons like a hole in the head right now.
We needed to hold up Cleveland or someone else in a Redd Sign and Trade three years ago.....rather than invest so much into a SG who didn't have the skills of a Kobe/Dwade, etc....
