TI: Miami and Milwaukee

This summer:
Miami sends/Milwaukee Receives: Dwayne Wade + cap filler (maybe Blount).
Milwaukee sends/Miami receives: Michael Redd, Yi Jianlian, 2009 1st round pick unprotected. (possibly even toss flinstone or sessions in.)
I ran this on the Miami board and one person said it was a reasonable offer, which I think it is. But the other couple that responded laughed at it. Then again, they are the same guys that are saying Shawn Marion is the same player as KG, so take it for what it's worth.

Chance of Miami trading Wade: 0%

Look I understand that Dwayne Wade is a top 5 player in this league, but how can you honestly say that this trade would make our team better?
There's no way in hell our future would look better either. We'd be trading a 19 year old with an absolute ton of potential and an unprotected 1st round pick and Redd for one player. And if they make us throw in Bell, we have absolutely no depth or future.
Trades like this aren't what will make our future Bucks better. Hell, this trade doesnt even get rid of Simmons or Gadz who are essentially crushing us financially for years to come.

I think its fair value for Wade, but it will never happen. While Yi could potentially bring in a lot of money for Miami, Wade has one of the most popular selling jerseys. He has already helped bring a championship to the city, and I think it would be great if he played his whole career there.
I think Miami did a good job with the shaq trade. They can resign marion, who will be expensive, but they will have the cap space. They can draft a good player (assuming they still get a top 7 pick and can get a good PG), and then sign a couple of serviceable shooters/defenders like Phoenix has done (Raja Bell types). Get a somewhat serviceable center and you are fine.
While I don't believe Wade/Marion is Jordan/Pippen, they could be a decent combination with some quality players surrounding them.

Another question. Could Wade sell out the Bradley Center?

I'd trade every player on this team for Wade if it could be done.
Unfortunately, Riley would say no and hang up before I got a chance to make a counter offer.

perfect trade for the bucks.
how would we not be better wade is a perfect fit next to mo and wed still have bogut and cv whom is playing better than yi. i think it is a fair offer for wade, but you have to have a blow away offer to get wade, i think if wed include bogut the heat would be fools to turn it down, but that is the necessary offer it would take especially considering wade is riley's baby.

Yes. He'd be the best player this team has had since probably Alcindor and he's a Marquette alum.

probably true, but I am looking at it from this perspective. We could trade Redd+Yi and possibly get back a top 10-15 player.
Wade is probably not in the top 5 anymore (injuries) but he is definitely in the top 10-15. As a competitor, he is in the top 1-3. He has a ton of heart. That being said, he is going to be beat up a ton during his career.
I thought it was a different approach than the normal: CV+whoever ideas.
Yi to me has potential, but I just don't think it is as high as some people here think it is. He will be a good player, just not a superstar. Also, he is NOT 19 years old. No way no how. Didn't Battier play against him on a U-20 team? From articles that have been out on the what is Yi's age subject most put him at 22 years of age. Ultimately, I dont think the age matters too much, because he has a lot of room for improvement regardless. But he will never be a superstar. It doesn't seem the mental make-up is there. He seems like a nice kid, but he just doesn't seem to have that killer mentality that it takes to be a superstar.
We will probably get to see him for 3 more years. After that, who knows where he goes. I'd say our chances of keeping him here long term are less than 50%.
Redd is a good player, but he is a complimentary guy... if he'd be willing to be a complimentary guy.
Charlie Bell is a good hustle player. I'd like to see him stay here, the one thing he needs to brush up on is the 3pt jump shot. He has an affinity for the shot, and is wide open a ton. He just isn't knocking them down this season for whatever reason.
the 1st in 09 wouldnt likely be lottery with Mo, Wade, CV, Bogut on this team. (dreaming).

Yes, he played at Marquette and it was a riot when they got to the final four. But, would it still be enough to sell out the BC on a consistent basis? On a good team, maybe. On a mediocre team, I think our situation is so poor that it still wouldn't be enough. I don't think Wade would put up with that, or even want to play here. Sure he comes back every once in a while for Marquette events, but he's too big already to play in this market.

Somebody e-mail my trade idea to Larry Harris and say I want a 1% finders fee.

If you can get a young legit superstar you have to do it, especially when then only real unknown in this deal is Yi.

Yeah, but try to put together that list...and it becomes problematic. Here is how it breaks down
1) Young superstars are already on winning teams and are not available:
Deron Williams
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard
2)Young superstars are part of a huge rebuilding process and not available (this team also wouldn't want Redd)
Durant
Oden
Rudy Gay
Roy
Al Jefferson
3) Young superstars who are on mediocre teams and might be available?
Chris Bosh?
4) Other superstars who aren't young (Ginobili, Dirk, Josh Howard, Baron Davis, Jermaine Oneal, Kidd, Richard Jefferson, Vince Carter, Joe Johnson, etc...) I'm not really into trading Yi+Redd for any of these guys, and some of them aren't available anyway.
A Yi plus Redd trade will have to net you a young superstar, but that proves to be very difficult...You won't get a lebron obviously, and a lot of the other players are untouchable (either already developed as a future centerpiece or planned). Chris Bosh is the only player I can come up with who I think is good enough, and who we might be able to pry from Toronto. And I don't even like that trade...
