Redd being called an all-star

Post#1 » by steger_3434 » Sun Feb 10, 2008 11:54 pm

This thread goes with the post game thread where a few people are STILL calling Redd an all-star. He's been there one time and that was a few years ago. I think it's about time we stop using that title when talking about him. Here are a list of NBA players to have only played in the game 1 time. As you can see there are some decent players and some poor players. Whatever you want to say Redd does fit in with these players. To top it off I'm pretty sure Redd is the highest if not one of the highest paid players on this list.

agreed.

I'm sick of the front office, and some of the fans, fooling themselves.

He's getting paid to be a superstar, when in fact, he really isn't even an all star.

Pretty sad stuff IMO.

I don't have a problem with it in general, it is an honor that sticks with a guy, but flogging it right before the break in a year he didn't earn it isn't the greatest.

Who the hell cares what people are calling Redd? Seriously, give up the Redd hate for just one **** day.

You know what's funny about Redd only having 1 All-star appearance? It's 1 more than the rest of the team combined.

No he's not. This has been covered millions of times on here and people still seem to think he's paid like the superstars of this league.

Redd was good enough to play on our olympic team as a major contributor, which puts him above 90 percent of those players on that list. Lets not fool ourselves. Redd is better than BJ armstrong.

Call him an all-star; thats fine. That doesn't take away from the fact that I still don't agree with the way he plays, as I disagree with the way many all-stars play...

If you are getting paid 15 million+ a year, you better either a) making the all star team or b) leading your team to the post season.

Michael has proven he can't do either of those. So yeah, Redd is like the Zach Randolph of guards.

What?? Has infact done both of those things.

He would've made the allstar team last year if it wasn't for his injury. Alot of NBA analysis were saying he still got snubbed out of last year's game.

Redd has lead this team to the playoffs a couple of times, when he had a decent coach and some players around him.

I dare some of you to name a player with less talent surrounding him, who's had 4 different coaches in the last 5 years that made the Playoffs every year and went to more than 1 All-Star game.

I'm not sure that the Cavs have gone to the playoffs for the past 5 years. I think the last 4 years at least.

So Lebron.

I think he's had multiple coaches, probably not 4 though, as he's actually winning.

Lebron's only been in the playoff's 2 times. And that was once the team finally upgraded the talent and Coaching staff around him. Not trying to compare Lebron to Redd, because there is none, Bron is the one of the best players in the league.

As ridiculous as it is to even throw lebron's name out there, the guy still has big Z, who's been a multiple year all-star, Larry Hughes who i believe has been to the all-star game, Drew Gooden, a better PF than anyone on our team, Eric Snow in years past who's been to the NBA finals, now Daniel Gibson, one of the best 3p shooters in the game, and carrot top, a very good high energy guy.

Your comparison fails.
