Overreaction by Bucks "fans"

Post#1 » by ReddManBogieMan » Tue Feb 12, 2008 10:09 am

I know that this is not the type of results that us as "fans" or "observers" of the Milwaukee Bucks expected or hoped for thus far this season.

That being said, I'm sick to death from all the trade ideas started up which most of them make us worse, the constant Coach/GM/Owner all need to flee town. Teams don't become contenders overnight or over one offseason. Personally, I thought the bucks were good enough talent wise to compete with the best in the league on a regular basis this year.

It's funny to think that bringing in a new coach or GM into Milwaukee as it currently stands will turn around the bucks winning fortunes.

What the Bucks need are true fans to come out and support them at games and help them mature and gain confidence, not blast them 24/7 and make them out to all be P.O.S.

I compare this years Bucks team to the 2006 Green Bay Packers team.
New coach who is installing a drastic change from the prior coaches ways of doing things and is a strict no-nonsense type coach, a group of young players with most only having one to two years starting outside a rare veteran like Redd and Mason.

How many of the packers fans wanted Ted Thompson fired after 2005 and into 2006, and how many thought that McCarthy was a bum and he wasn't going to amount to anything and the pack would suck with them. See what I'm trying to say?

What I'm saying is be a "fan" and get behind this young team, who I believe has a bright future, instead of destroying it's fan-base and always be on board for any knee-jerk, flavor of the moment trade thought.

I'm just curious to see how many people actually have faith that this current players with the current coaching staff can be very successful in the near future.

We aren't even out of the 08 playoffs yet either only like 2 games back from the 8th seed, we've tried being tough on them, maybe just give them time and they will come around.

If not then there will be a change of some sort this offseason. Either way does anyone think that your pissing and moaning will swade the Bucks front office.

It sucks losing , but it is pointless to bother watch them if you think they suck and are no good.

To those true fans, come out to the BC down this final stretch and help cheer on the bucks not sit behind a keyboard and whine about them

Try to keep the future in mind and stay positive.
GO BUCKS!

The difference between the Packers of 2006 and the Bucks of today is that the Packers appeared to get better as the season progressed. The Bucks have not - they've regressed in nearly everything.

It's not even ALL-Star break yet, that's like giving up on '06 packers before their Bye week.

Dude, did you hear Larry K's post game comments? He says the locker room is split up and guys have their own agendas and don't care about winning or the team. That is straight from the horses mouth, not any speculation or anything. A team that has players that don't care is not a team that is going to succeed this year or anytime soon. We don't have a leader in the organization. All we have is a coach in way over his head, a gm with no power and a meddling owner with his inner circle of cronies messing up this team day after day. This team will not succeed as it is set up right now. Making the playoffs right now would be horrible for this team. We would get the 8th seed, get swept out of the first round and Kohl would think that this team is fine and that we don't have to make any changes. We HAVE to make changes and you have to be blind not to see it.

Yeah I heard LK's comments. What do you think he was trying to accomplish by doing that? Start controversy OR pull certain players heads out of their respective asses. He isn't in over his head, but certain players like a Michael Redd, Charlie Bell, Bobby Simmons appear unfazed when they lose games. Call me a homer or what have you, but I'm sticking by this team, and when they start winning games again all of you will jump ship again.

I haven't jumped ship, I've jumped to reality. This team blows and is going nowhere fast. A change needs to happen now, a change at the top.

Yeah like Herb Kohl doesn't hear or see what is going on with the Bucks.

He doesn't care! You think if he actually cared about winning that he wouldn't nix every trade that LH gives to him? Kohl and his inner circle don't care about winning. You can ask others more about this who know more.

A team with organizational dysfunction (now Kohl micromanages the coach!) can NEVER be good.

If we had a sound organizational structure with defined roles (like the Packers), I could see your point. But we don't.

We are the Brewers during the Seligs. They had no chance, and neither do we.

Do I think Kohl is the best owner?
No

Will he quit or step down?
Probably not

Like everyone knows he has the final say on who to bring in for players and coaches, so whatever GM we have will basically do the same thing. LH is not our problem, and Kohl is going nowhere anytime soon. Unfortunately.

So then how are we overreacting? We want what's best for the Bucks but since the owner is a friggin' moron that won't happen unless we get his attention.

Which equals us sucking until he sells the team which leads to the collective feeling of hatred and animosity towards the Bucks organization right now. We aren't overreacting, we are just speaking the truth.

I'm sure teams come pounding on the bucks doors in long lines waiting to get guys with contracts like Simmons, Gadzuric, Bell, or Redd.

I know it's fun to play the blame game when a team is down, but true fans stick by a team.

Demanding more than mediocrity is the ULTIMATE in sticking by a team.

You can't just keep blowing up a team every offseason and expect something better to happen. I want nothing more than us to bust out of the state of mediocrity and be legit contenders.

This group of players is young and everyone keeps forgetting that.

Well a couple years ago, according to someone on this board, we could have had gadzuric for james jones and eric piatkowski but we shot it down. There's also been numerous other trades that we have shot down. This franchise is a joke, like th87 said, we are the selig brewers, we have no direction and no hope.
