Who will our new team be for the second half?

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 1:57 pm

Since we've hit all-star break and our Milwaukee Bucks are again jockeying for lotto space while Herb, Ron Walter, Larry1, Larry2 and the players all fight amongst themselves, it is now time to find another team to follow for the balance of the season and playoffs.

I realize that this concept may just be a funny idea and not have any traction after a week or two but let's give it a try.

What I'd like to do is have everyone list here the team they think the board should adopt and why. After a couple days I'll take what appear to be the top two and then run a final poll on it.

A couple thoughts:

a) A team like Portland would be great, but remember that they probably won't make the playoffs

b) The Lakers and the Celtics can be eligible but I might use my mod powers to tip the scale on the voting. It's just hard to vote for two teams whose fanbases were born on third but think they've hit a triple.

Ok...so who does everyone want? And why?

Hornets. They're good, Paul kicks ass, West kicks ass basically that whole team kicks ass.

Portland won't make the playoffs but they have a hell of a future.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

detroit - cuz they are badasses, they have a chance, they are everything we are not.... and I think staying in the division shows how down we are on these bucks. I'd like to slap everyone of them in the face.

Hornets. Just a good team and fun to watch.

No East teams turn me on.

The bucks minus one of our starting backcourt rotation and plus some hustle, pretty please.....

ETA - otherwise I'm down with the hornets, or GS.

East: Washington
West: Houston

Both teams are doing well despite injuries to their top players.

If you want to root for the team which will be the champ this year, just root for the Spurs.. and root for them every year.. despite what you may or may not think you know.. just root for the Spurs, until Tim Duncan retires. All these other western conference teams and their desperation moves won't beat the Spurs. Bank on it..

I was upstairs listening to my Will Smith cd.... Detroit what?! Detroit what?!

I like the Pistons, Lakers, Celtics.

Also anybody with less losses than us. I want a top 5 pick.

The Celtics have been my second team since they got Paul Pierce.

Now that they have my favorite player in Ray and one of my favorites in KG, they are definitely my team.

When the Celtics come to town, I'll be wearing my vintage Celtics shirt to the game.

First time in history I will actually be supporting the opponent.

But if we somehow win, I will be happy, but I don't see that happening.

WCF I want Suns vs Lakers
ECF I want Celtics vs Detroit (well I don't really want DET, but they'll be there)

Finals Suns vs Celtics

Champion Celtics

I think we should pick a team in the western conference.

I'd have to say I'd be down with rooting for either the hornets, jazz, or warriors.
