In the Chad Ford it shows Randolph,Artest,Redd on the picture of next possibly traded. Ford isn't a good source but still curious.

Milwaukee Bucks

With Bucks GM Larry Harris in trouble, no one's sure whether owner Herb Kohl will let him make a deal. If the Bucks are active, don't be surprised if the player moved is Michael Redd. He has a ton of talent, but the three years and $34 million left on his contract are a concern for Milwaukee -- and for potential trade partners as well.

Easier to move would be Charlie Villanueva. Yi Jianlian is the future at the 4, so the Bucks should move Villanueva while he still has some value. But the team has been trying to package him with Bobby Simmons -- 2 years, $20 million remaining -- which is why they haven't found any takers yet.

Since Chad sometimes gets fed stuff by Larry, that is optimistic news that Redd is maybe out there and available.....

Kohl could throw us a bone in a different direction and send us all scurrying.....

Edit: I think this is an old story since Ford again refers to Redd making $34mm of the next three years. The number is $51 million.

Maybe he just really thinks he makes $34 million over the next three years. Either way it's really annoying that writers can't even get their numbers right.

Few things of note from this article:

1. It seems clear the priority in terms of trade is to try and move Villanueva and Simmons or at least Villanueva. I'm not surprised the Bucks aren't finding any takers for either option. It's not like Villanueva has much value and Simmons' contract is a killer.

2. If Option No. 1 can't be realized than maybe Redd will become available if Kohl decides a major move needs to be made.

One thing I found interesting is what Ford had to say about the Rockets. He said they are still looking for a PG and an athletic big man if they can find someone to take back Battier and Rafer. Battier is having a down season but I'm a huge fan of his and so I would propose:

Mo/Gadz for Battier/Rafer/Steve Francis/2008 second round pick

Rafer's contract isn't ideal (2 years/$10.1M) but you could try to move him down the road. Francis could be waived immediately after the trade. From the Bucks' perspective, you rid the team of Gadz's bloated contract and you add a smart, defensive-minded player to the mix who can play either SF or PF.

Ford used the $34 million number in a chat last week IIRC...so he probably just had that on his brain and used it again despite it being incorrect. Redd is owed about $33 million in 08/09 and 09/10, then he has an ETO but it seems unlikely he would turn down the $18.3 million his current deal would give him in 10/11. Hence PP's $51 million number for three years.

The funny part is that the Bucks would probably have no trouble finding suitors for Redd if he was only owed $34 million over the next three seasons. That's a lot, but in a world where Rashard Lewis a $112 million deal it'd be very palatable.

I have zero doubt that if they wanted to move Villanueva they could. Regardless as to his performance off the bench here, he's still young, big and on a rookie deal. I think it's more a case of them trying to package him with Bobby and that's why there hasn't been a deal.

He does mention the Ben Wallace to NY & that has been rumored for about 2 weeks.

If Bulls cannot trade Ben to a contender, the trade with NY is a possibility

it's all chemistry
what trade value can Redd and CV get together? i think they worth alot
and what if the locker room issue solves if they were traded? we can just hope for the best
the bucks team isn't such a bad team
they just have problem in figuring out who is the man, and who is the clutch
we need a veteran that can take charge when **** happen

i am not saying they are the problem in locker room
i am just saying some people might not be happy if they are there,
and if that is a majority
then they have to go, it happens also that both of them aren't ego player
seriously i don't think that's anyone's fault
it's just that they cannot be teammate of current bucks
they could probably be one of buck's team best friend if they are traded

I really like the idea of making a deal with Houston, though here's one I think both teams would prefer over europa's scenario:

Bucks trade: Mo Williams, Bobby Simmons, Charlie Villanueva
Rockets trade: Shane Battier, Rafer Alston, Carl Landry, Steve Novak, Kirk Snyder, Steve Franics

Battier would be INCREDIBLE for our team, and Rafer Alston's passing ability could help as well. The rest of hte guys we could cut for all I care (though I bet Landry and Novak would get a look if only for thier milwaukee connections). I'd also vastly prefer to dump Simmons than gadzuric, as gadz does not effect our chemistry and is paid less.

For the Rockets, CV would be a real good fit for them, and Simmons could certainly help more than gadzuric (though they may balk at the salary). Mo Williams would be a great fit there though, and they'd have to be extremely confident about him to make this trade.

Scola and Yao works very well

I just hope that if we do trade Redd that we get closer to a Kidd type package back then a Vince Carter type package back.

Scola is their only PF besides Chuck Hayes (who's about 6'5). Although they like Scola, they definitely need help at that position.

I agree that they do need a small man who can penetrate and shoot threes, adn that's why they'd really value Mo Williams. CV is in the deal to ensure they take on Simmons' nasty deal, but even Simmosn could help them with his shooting. if htey lose Battier they could use help at SF anyways as well.

Not sure if this is the right thread to put this in, but I thought of a Heat-Bucks trade and I was wondering if this is realistic at all...

Miami trades: Udonis Haslem, Jason Williams (expiring), Ricky Davis (expiring), Dorrell Wright

Milwaukee trades: Michael Redd, Bobby Simmons

I know the Bucks probably won't trade Redd, but if they did, is that about what you would expect in return?

It gives a nice PF and plenty of $ for the off season. we still get points from Davis and we get a pg to back up Mo
