Mike Miller - Can we up Indiana?
Not sure if there is another thread on this, but... I just saw on the wiretap that Indiana is offering Diogu and Daniels for Mike Miller.
I think Miller would be a massive upgrade at the SF position for us. What would you guys think of offering CV + Mason for him?

If the Bucks were in more of a win-now mode I'd be all over getting Miller. However, we're really in the same position Memphis is in but with terrible contracts. If we deal Charlie it should be with a guy like Gadz in order to dump salary and pick up picks or a young prospect. I understand Charlie's value isn't great, but we're not going to the playoffs this season. The Bucks can afford to showcase him for a deal this summer.

I understand what you are saying and I agree to a certain extent.
I think that we could start to build a very solid winning group.
STARTING:
X/Redd/Miller/X/Bogut
BENCH:
Mo/Bell/Simmons/Yi/Gadzuric
I think if we could fill in the spots in the starting line-up with a big, defensive minded PG (Could come in the draft via Rose, Collison and/or Bayless) and then get a solid rebounding 4 that we would have a much better team than we currently have constructed. Our bench would be massively upgraded due to Mo playing 6th man and Yi coming off (Until he is ready to start?).
I dunno, just an idea.

I'm a big fan of Miller's passing ability as a swingman, but can we afford another shooter who can't play defense? if that move would come in combination of a Mo, Redd, or Simmons trade i'd be a lot happier. otherwise, we trade one of only a couple guys who cares about defense for another shooter.
Here's a deal I would vastly prefer:
Bucks trade: CV, Simmons, Big Jake
Grizzlies trade: Lowryy, Miller, Cardinal
We take on Brian Cardinal's nasty deal (but hsi good attitude and hustle owuld help), but we dump Simmons' horrible attitude. Hell, even Big Jake has demanded a trade from our team! And in this deal we get Lowry who i'm a big fan of.

I'm putting the Joakhim Noah rule in affect here. Unless he chops off his hair and gets facial reconstruction surgery, I don't want to have to look at that fugly every game.

Here's what we should do:
Bucks Send:
Dez Mason
Jake Voskuhl
Charlie Villanueva
Bucks Recieve:
Mike Miller
Kyle Lowry
Then from there, we ship mo williams and Dan Gadzuric for Jason Williams and Alonzo Mourning.
WE can cut williams and mourning if we want
Here's our team heading into to the offseason.
Kyle Lowry/Ivey
Redd/Bell
Miller/Simmons
Yi/Simmons
Bogut/Ruffin
I think that team is a better core to build around, and over the summer we can consider some michael redd trades, possibly packaging simmons along with him.

I'd glady take Mike Miller. I doubt it'd take a lot. If we could give them Villy and dump either Gadz or Simmons at the same time it'd be a great deal. Him and Redd would really open it up for bogut in the post. I think Miller would be a good piece to start rebuilding with although I still think the missing link is PF who can impose his will on offense and defense. I wish we had the cash to sign a guy like that, but we're stuck with redd instead. Yi has been a pleasant surprise and i think he has a future, but i think him starting has been part of our problem this year. I guess we really didnt have anything better on the bench though and that's Harris' problem for building such a pussy team.

We won't be able to dump either simmons or gadz on the grizzlies since they are looking to free up money (not take money on)
However, if we could get miller and lowry, that would create the availability to trade mo along with either gadz or simmons for a team that may want him bad enough to do so (miami)

I can see them taking on Simmons if we take on Brian Cardinal. Simmons is paid more, but he'd help them a lot more as well. If we provide them some instant cap room in jake's ending deal for a miller swap that'd be further incentive.
This was the ratioanle behind my bobby/cv/jake for miller/cardinal/lowry scenario

Mike Miller is not an 'uprgrade' for any team really...he can't defend or rebound.
There are teams that need him more then your Bucks. The Nets and Magic are two off the top of my head.
The Hawks were better off trying to get Andre Miller then Mike Bibby. Bibby makes them dangerous, Miller would have made them better.
Shaq will explode in Pheonix...great deal for them.
I like Marion in Miami with DWade as well who could especially use a guy like Mike Miller or Andre Miller and should move Haslem to do it!

actually, hes a pretty good rebounder. hes putting up around 6.5 rpg this season, and is around 5 rpg for his career.
but the bucks have little to no shot at miller. the nets, magic, nuggets, heat, and spurs all could (and would probably be willing to) offer better deals than anything the bucks could offer.

You forgot to add that Miller is also a great passer, to the extent that he played a lot of PG in Memphis a few years ago. We probably need that more htan anything else except for defense maybe.
I disagree that we have no shot at Miller though, as a Mason/CV package is better than any offer i've seen made for him as is. I also think that we are one of the few teams that could use Brian Cardinal, and if we're willing to take him on I think we may be front runners actually.

im not sure why memphis would be willing to take mason when other teams would surely be willing to offer expirings for miller. but taking on cardinal would be a plus that some other teams might not be able to match.
but what package could the buck build that could match the salary of miller+cardinals 15 mil? mason+voskul+CV+ruffin works in the checker, and dumping cardinal may be big incentive for memphis. bucks certainly have a better chance than i first thought.
but are the bucks willing to take on cardinal? and is this deal still better than base packages from the spurs (expirings+ian+pick) nuggets (expirings+smith and/or kleiza+pick), nets (expirings+pick), heat (expiring+pick), or orlando (expirings+jj and/or vazquez+pick) for miller straight up? and if memphis could get any of those teams to take on cardinal, it would be a no brainer, no?
