Since it appears that Kohl will be replacing Harris - hopefully sooner than later if he is going to do it - Who might be logical replacements?

Say no to Babcock. Collins really would be a good GM IMO (has his problems as coach), but I doubt he leaves his broadcast position. Carlisle, iffy on, but I'd take him as our coach in a heartbeat.

what's a new GM gonna do? if babcock or collins becomes GM.....Kohl is just gonna nix their trades anyways.....cuz hes the problem. Kohl needs to step down!

Is Carlisle really a candidate for a GM job? Rick Sund's been mentioned along with Collins...not that he's a great option but his name is out there.

Ron Walter or Herb Kohl since they're the GM's anyways. Might as well give them the title GM too.

Question for the insiders----has Harris' role ever been larger than it is now? The impression I have is that he had more room to operate until he had a series of failed moves, including the Simmons and Gadz signings and the Magloire trade. However, us undercutting him and canning Porter probably meant that even if he had more power to make moves then, it was VERY limited.

At this point, i fear our only chance of replacing the Herb Kohl/Ron Walter duo is if they hire a big name coach who will also take on a lot of GM duties. Rick Carlisle, Jeff Van Gundy, or Paul Silas would all be great in my opinion, but I fear no establsihed coach would wnat to walk into this mess, even if they are offered a huge salary and roster control.

Honestly what difference does it make? Unless Kohl is selling the team or firing all his cronies (or at least stop talking to them)then they could bring in the greatest GM in the league and it won't make a bit of difference. He wasn't to play passenger seat GM and Coach of this team and isn't allowing anyone to do their job.

So bring in Collins. Bring in whoever.. it really doesn't matter.

Xtitan elluded to the fact that Dan Kohl might be a possibility for GM. Maybe he was just kidding, but maybe not.

If Herb Trusts his Nephew, might that be better than the situation with Larry?

Collins was a TV basketball analyst when he was being considered for the Bucks. He made a comment during a game that he would only consider leaving the broadcasting booth if given some degree of control on the team. With Kohl in charge it is no wonder he declined. Carlisle probably would be of the same mind. If you have players forced on you that don't contribute to team chemistry or need, or fit your system, why would you even bother?

All this negative talk about Herb Kohl and he just might change his stance on being determined to keeping the Bucks in Milwaukee. The Las Vegas Bucks. Now that has a nice ring to it.

There is nothing to believe that Herb will give up GM control.....this is like Donald Sterling and Elgin Baylor.

But I do think we've got a decent chance of Kohl spending money on a top tier coach, with that guy demanding that he have some player personnel power. Similar to what happened with Karl.

Kohl can't deal with two powerful guys at the same time (GM and big name coach) so I see him keeping Babcock as "GM" and allowing a guy like Carlisle some leeway with power.

Or he'll make Doug Collins come in and force him to coach and be GM to get a "two-fer". That saves money you know.....if the guy running the Kohl's meat counter can also sweep the floors in his spare time it's just smart business!

What about when we had Karl and Grunfeld at the same time---did we limit Ernie's power, or was Karl able to convince Kohl to stay in the office?

I'm hoping that Kohl overpays for a top notch coach and also gives them some personnel power. That isn't quite ideal as coaches can be impulsive and generally think short term too much, but this team desperatley needs a winning mentality and I think that might be the only way to inject it back here.
