Cavs get:

Ben Wallace
Wally Szczerbiak
Joe Smith
Delonte West

Bulls get:

Larry Hughes
Drew Gooden
Cedric Simmons

Sonics get:

Ira Newble
Donyell Marshall
Chris Duhon

That's an incredible deal for Cleveland.

I like it for pretty much everyone. Not real sure about Chicago, but Seattle should have cleared out some money and Cleveland got their shooter and a good young point guard.

Cavs got the best of that deal. Three guys who can hit the jumpshot in Wally, Smitty, and Delonte, and Wallace can backup the 4/5 and doesn't have to play starter minutes, that gives the Cavs AV and Wallace as a bench.

Cavs still don't have a PG though.

Chicago now has a whole lot of swing men (Gordon, Hughes, Thabo, Deng)

The NBA is in trouble.

This trade deadline proved it.

When expiring/shorter contracts are worth more than most Semi/Super Stars, it's a problem.

There are so many BAD contracts out there it's sad. Hopefully owners start to pull the purse strings a little tighter this summer.

Guarenteed contracts will ruin the league!!

It hurts as a Bulls fan because I thought getting Big Ben was going to be the piece we needed for the ring.

And now we are trading him away for Larry Hughes (YUCK), all though ironic with all the Lebron/Hughes talk as the next MJ/Pippen.

Chicago seems to be going in circles, trade Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler, trading Chandler for JR Smith/PJ Brown, trading JR Smith for noting, signing Big Ben to a long term deal and now trading him for Drew Gooden (worse than Tyson Chandler) and Larry Hughes (unbelievable). They let go of Joe Smith who was one of the few Bulls giving effort this year, (which was the same when he was on the Bucks).

It is obvious Paxson is throwing darts blindly hoping for a Bullseye.

I actually like it most for Chicago. They've got a SG with size now, and someone on the blocks that can actually put the ball in the hoop.

I really like this deal for Cleveland.

Starters: Gibson/West, Szczerbiak, James, Smith, Ilgauskas

Bench: West/Gibson, Pavlovic, Varejao, Wallace

Thabo's been playing very well for us, but he'll probably get more time at the 3 now

I am only guessing that Cleveland will start Big Ben at PF, at the very least until AV is 100%.

Getting West is the most underrated part of that deal. He's better than Gibson is, especially with regards to PG skills.

West/Wally/James/Smith/Z

Bench: Gibson, AV, Wallace, Pavlovic.

They really have some nice shooters paired with LeBron now. Still think they are third in the East though.

So the Bulls basically took their crap and were able to convert it into two useable players in Gooden and Hughes......hmmmm......

Bulls made out the worst in this trade. Sonics are going to get cap room (in a great FA class), Cavs got more talent back than they gave up. I don't see how the Bulls improved at all. Smith has been just as effective as Gooden all year and Hughes is well, Hughes.

Difference is one their pieces of "crap" has won Defensive Player of the Year, what 4 times?

Bobby Simmons Most Improved Player award doesn't carry the same weight.

Hughes will probably go back to being injured again in Chicago. I really doubt he's happy about this trade. The Cavaliers will be Joe Smith's 8th team and Chicago will be Larry Hughes' 5th.

Agreed. Why they wanted to take on Hughes' contract is beyond me. I guess that means the end for Gordon. Great trade by Cleveland, imo. It'll be very interesting to see Ben playing PF with Ilg, and if that doesn't work well, they go to reliable Joe Smith. And West is a great fit for them. Just a great move by Ferry.
