WSSP Post Game Show Live @ Fitzgibbons- Join us!

Post#1 » by GrandAdmiralDan » Sat Feb 23, 2008 8:51 am

There will once again be some post-game festivities after a weekend Bucks game.

The Bucks may be depressing, but these get togethers never have been and never will be, I say.

Sparky is leaving with Tim Allen for Phoenix to cover Brewers' Spring Training, but Josh Vernier "The Future" is filling in and hosting the Farmer's Insurance WSSP Basketball Post Game Show live from Fitzgibbons Irish Pub on Water Street, a short walk from the Bradley Center.

There is also a free shuttle bus from the Bradley Center to Water Street and they will drop you right by the door to Fitzgibbons. Just go around to the buses lined up between the BC and US Cellular Arena and ask if they're going to Water Street.

That same shuttle bus will actually take you FROM Water Street to the BC, so a few of us will be parking around Water Street, and popping into Fitzgibbons around 6:45pm for a couple pre-game drinks before heading over to the game.

After the post game show is over (shortly before midnight) we will be meeting up with even more Bucks fans at another bar in the vicinity. This will most likely be VI Degrees on Water Street and Clybourn.
Your Bucks ticket can be redeemed there for one free drink, and I'm personally a big fan of that bar. Just don't insult Vanilla Ice or the movie "Cool As Ice" while you are in there or you risk being ordered to do a tequila shot and/or thrown out.

And I don't want to hear any nonsense about not giving any more money to Senator Kohl. I for one purchased these tickets quite a while back. The games can still be fun, especially if you go with another hardcore Bucks fan. If you don't want to give more money to Kohl, don't buy any concessions at the BC. If you don't have a ticket, you can still go without giving money to Kohl. Just buy your ticket from a scalper. Those tickets were already purchased from the Bucks. Considering the state of the Bucks, you can get them at a deep discount as long as you're not a pushover when negotiating with the scalpers.

So far bigkurty, wichmae, and myself are in on this. BuckFan25226 will also be at the game and will meet up with us at some point in the evening.
I didn't find out until tonight, but unfortunately Nowak and blue_jeep will not be at this game. I guess that means more room for the rest of you!

Come one, come all.

Sorry Dan, I'm going to spend my money following UWM to Bradley University for a bracketbuster game with two vans full of Panther Basketball fans. I also turned down tickets to the Bucks game next Saturday. I will make it out to join you and the gang for a post-game show before the season ends.

Sounds like fun but unfortunately I live in Minneapolis....I would love to catch a game with another hardcore fan though. Drink a beer for me and root for Gadzuric to increase his trade value.

It's almost that time. Even if you are not going to the game, the camaraderie of hanging out with other die hard fans is a lot of fun. If some of you guys don't have anything going on tonight, get your ass to fitzgibbons after the game and hang out with us. Its fun. If you want, you can try to bug GAD all night about what exactly was the story with Patterson and who Europa is. Haha.

Josh Vernier FTW.

He should be the permanent alternate host whenever Sparky can't do the show.

No offense to Cliff Saunders, but Josh Vernier is a better fit for host of this show.

Props to bigkurty, andrew34r, jakecronus, and BuckFan25226 (and firends) for showing up for the show. wichame fell asleep apparently so he never made it down there. And the rest of you missed a good time. I would have to say that this was the best game of the season. You all missed it.

bigkurty and I already had $16 a piece invested in this game for tickets, so we were there regardless, but we sure got our money's worth tonight (finally). As is my MO, I led us to a very nice seat "upgrade" (usually I do this after half time, but lately I've been doing it after the 1st quarter since attendance is so sparse). Lower bowl, center court, row N. Great seats for this game.

Anyway, the post game show was a good time. It is always fun to drink with fellow Bucks' fans, but it is even more fun after a game like this. More people should come out and have a good time when we do this on future Friday or Saturday night games.

It also seems that more RealGMers have discovered one of my recent weaknesses.
For many years I had sworn off doing shots (after many years of doing them perhaps too frequently) and only earlier this year did BuckFan25226 somehow convince me to start doing shots again. I'm still not at the point where I'll ever buy myself a shot though. Which is why when I was asked tonight "Are you just drinking beer? No shots?" I responded with my usual "I'm good with beer" response. But the follow up question was along the lines of "Are you sure? I'm going to buy a round of shots." and of course I had to respond "Oh. Alright then. Sure. Why the **** not, right?"

I'm fairly certain that practice resulted in about 5 shots tonight on top of the 5 beers and the Jack Daniels & Club Soda (tall) I had, all of which were consumed AFTER the Bucks game.

Just got home about an hour ago.
Good times.

Woot woot.

At the very least 5 shots! I didnt have the GAD shot-o-meter going but I would say it was closer to 8.

Also just want to add that they said the next post game show will be at Fitz on March 15th. That is a Saturday Night as usual so if anybody wants to come down you have plenty of time to plan ahead!
