Wow, what a sweet way for my fantasy season to end.

well that sucks ....they were the hottest team in the NBA. wish for the best for the Rockets and Yao.

I wish we had some big injury to blame the season on...........

That sucks. 3rd straight year he won't make 60 games.

Stress fracture in the foot.....

Sounds like Bill Walton and Grant Hill......

I could see that.....he's got one of the most massive frames of any guy on earth.....that is a ton of pressure on those feet.

But the good news for you guys now is that all of China is going to watch and focus on your chinese player...

Yeah, I had a trade on the table (offered to me) to give up Yao and Deron Williams for Kidd, Okafor and Gerald Wallace.


I just hit accept a few minutes ago. Not sure the league will let me go thru with it though.

Yeah, it will likely only increase the sentiment that the Bucks aren't using him correctly (or enough...which is debatable).

We can save the Rockets playoff hopes by offering Bogut for Yao.

ETA: oops, this is of course contingent on a reworking of the CBA.

Why yes I am... It helps us in the short term without compromising any of the tradable expirings that is coming up...It was a perfect scenario that didn't involve picks or any players that I didn't want to see depart..

And I am sure Houston wishes this happened a week ago, they would have gotten in on the Ben Wallace deal and been able to offer more than no defensive playing/no IQ having Drew Gooden and Larry "I have never seen a shot I dislike" Hughes.

this brings up five vital questions ???

1. how much can I get out of the guy if I offer him Blount or okur to fill his fantasy team hole? Our trading deadline is next week. And just today, primeballer was complaining that he had a great team and that the stats cats we used must be fixed, because surely he had a great team and he should be doing better. and now he sits with both brand and yao on the sidelines. That lightning bolt hit yao's foot the second after primeballer complained.

2. Will TMAC sudenly take everything on his shoulders like kobe and become a 35-40 point scoring machine? or will other teams start double and triple teaming him?

3. Houston was the 7th seed in the Wst. Do they try to press on? or do they tank?

4. Magliore was about to sign with Dallas. Does he change his mind and sign with Houston?

5. would it be justice if Purdue's Landry - a second round pick - ended up with better stats than Yi? Landry has been doing ok as Yao's back-up center. Boiler UP!

a side note- i see no reason to give YI any additional playing time. China's Olympic hopes are down the tubes.

Sorry...it sounded better in my head.

It won't help that he has to play in the Olympics too. He won't have much time to heal. This is why I worry about Yi and Bogut both being international players in that they will be exhausted. I'm looking forward to next year just as much as anybody but whose to say Yi will have a breakout year if he's exhausted by mid-season again next year. Same thing with Bogut. They really won't that much time off.

They haven't mentioned how this will affect the Olympics this summer. But IIRC a stress fracture surgery will likely keep him on the shelf all summer. He's probably got 6+ months of recovery time.


Bogut is skipping a month of the training for the Olympics. He's only going to be in camp for them for a few weeks. Not the whole summer. He's aware of the wear on his body and is already looking out so thats good to hear.

I'm not Nick Riveria, but again most stress fractures in the foot are nasty......I'd guess he's done for the Olympics.

The Rockets were looking like a very solid team...one that could have made it out of the first round easily this year, imo. The Bobby Jackson trade was one that not a lot of people noticed but seems like it was going to do wonders for them because of his experience in a system run by Adelman.

With that said you will notice most of this is in past tense because the Rockets are basically done now if they were hoping to get out of the first round.
