Playing at this level, rank the Bucks in the East

Post#1 » by One of Shemps Kids » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:44 am

I just watched your game vs the Cavs. Great win for you guys. You've had a really good week. So seeing your team with this much potential and ability, where would you re-rank them in the East right now?

Way too early for any of this. We've been garbage for 95% of the season. We could easily lose our next 5.

We've been focused for short stretches before. Will this last? I hope so. The last couple weeks have been fun.

I just looked at the standings and I wouldn't put them above any of the top 6 until they do it longer. But the 7th and 8th seeds are tied and they're not far off from those. So I'll say 7th, when 5 is probably the magic number to stay away from the Celtics, Pistons and these Cavs.

Well, we beat Detroit, so by the transitive property of success we are now the number 1 seed.

At least the games are fun to watch lately. But I am keeping my excitement tempered. I still don't think that Mo/Redd back court is good for long term success. Also glad Bogut isn't being ignored so his nut huggers can't complain. Hopefully we will play a complete game soon (good on defense, offense... not so much).

Aren't we 3-0 this week?

I think if we played at this level all of the time we would be undefeated.

If the Bucks could play like this everynight and continue to grow as a team we might have a .500 team someday.

Come on, Europa, don't you think you're jumping the gun a little? I would say at this point we're somewhere between Boston and Detroit. If we win a few more in a row, we'll be well ahead of both by a landslide.

If we make the playoffs it'll be by default. I worry that it might embolden Kohl to give LK and this core another year, when one of his very best moves he's made was to scrap the offense and go back to not developing the players we're most vested in for our future.

Now even if it's by default, getting our team more playoff experience would be a great thing. But wouldn't it be great if our franchise wasn't so screwed up that we could do that in a pathetic conference while also developing Bogut and Yi better?

What level?

This should be placed in the postgame thread....

What level. Nothing has changed. They are not playing at any kind of level from what I see...

Ask this after 7 more games or so. They are no threat if they cannot
guard the basketball and continue to do the little things to put teams
away.

Boxing out, making entry passes, knowing when and when not to double and leave your man and not turning the ball over...in crunch time.

Don't get giddy on Redd's unexpected buzzer beater. That is not who he is or has been.

Hey, all I know is I saw Mo and Redd looking like best buds after Redd's big shot. That sure as hell hasn't been the case recently. :D

Just saying. Remember our 7-4 start beating the Lakers, Cavs, Mavs? Has that same sort of feeling right now (Pistons, Nuggets, Cavs). I won't believe this team can play consistent ball until I see it. Call me a pessimist.
