Dear Andrew Bogut,

Please throw in the towel, take a seat, and go get your hip fixed. If it's hurting you to the point where you're consistantly shooting 33% from the field, there's very little beneift of you toughing it out. The team isn't doing anything significant this year anyways. Not to mention, you're going to have to play for Team Australia in the offseason. It's not like you'll be able to just get surgery after the season ends and rest.

I'd hate to see you in pain and fatigued next year because you wanted to play throug hthe rest of this season. Don't worry, you won't have to lay awake at night pondering if Jake Voshkul and Dan Gadzruic are going to take your starting spot.

from one of your many RealGM supporters,

Fort Minor

But seriously, does anyone have ANY info on just how severe his hip injury is? How long would he have to rehab it if he were to get so me sort of surgery?

I don't understand how it is his hip when he is leaping up and dunking during the game...

Does his hip injury only apply to him on certain plays?

I think he has just lost that hot streak that he had in January. He went from playing some of the best basketball in his career to playing some of the worst (offensively at least).

He's not as bad as he has been this month, he's still young and prone to having streaks where he will play poorly.

Why can he jump from halfway inside the FT line and hammer it down if he has a bad hip?

I'm not saying he isn't hurt at all, but there is no way that is the whole story.

It makes no sense to me, because on one hand I saw him CLEARLY limping when he had to walk across the court to take a free throw.

But a few plays before he was dunking.

I don't know what's up.

Maybe the adrenaline kicks in when he's dunking but when there's a break in the action he feels it. He did get 16 points though, so I don't know. He gets no lift on his hook shots though.

Dear Andrew Bogut,

Please keep playing. This team needs some wins down the stretch as do the fans. There are only seven weeks left in the season. Even you on one leg is better than seven Gadzuric's on the court at once.

Work hard these last seven weeks and you will be in position for your $60mm extension come July as you know. You can then get treatment for your hip in May/June and spend five-months resting and recovering.

The Aussies don't need you for the Olympics....they'll handle the Yao-less Chinese team just fine.

Sincerely,
PP25

An injured Bogut>>>>>>>>>>Any other center on our team.

I just dont understand the playing Gadz thing...its going to cost us a lot of games if it keeps up.

Bogut always looks like he's limping when he trudges around on the court between plays. He seems to be moving all right in general, so until we hear something to the contrary I have to assume he's OK. He's just missing a lot of chippies though.

He was back to himself tonight. He committed about 4 fouls in 6 minutes and let Dwyane Jones get 3 straight offensive rebounds. The guy does not deserve to play on the NBA level.

It's time for "the call."

Don't blame the hip. He's flying around dunking just fine. This is the Bogut we saw to begin the season. If he wants the ball then he needs to start rebounding better, because there is certainly no reson to pass it to him right now.

I saw the same thing. There are some times he clearly looks like he's hobbling and then there are others when he's racing down the court and dunking or going high and aggressive for rebounds. And Krystkowiak isn't letting up on him in terms of minutes so the medical staff must not think he's seriously hurt.

OK, it's the Bucks' medical staff. But still.

I don't know what's up with him either. He's definitely not completely healthy but how hurt is he? It's impossible to tell watching him play. Something must be impacting his FG shooting, though, because he's beyond pathetic right now.

I assume if it were the type of thing that could get worse, that we'd have heard more about it.

It sucks to watch sometimes and guess at how bad it is, but I'm pretty happy to see someone actually playing through it. If anything, maybe continued playing will make him take the whole summer off from Australia to rest and rehab. No offense to our Australian friends but I wouldn't mind that at all, I wouldn't really mind if Redd doesn't make Team USA again either.

It's significant that the team managed to make us postpone paper bag night until further indifference. If they get back to that then sure, rest him up and get him well, but while he's hanging in there and they're stringing a little something together, let's see how it goes.

This was the first thing that came to mind.

I would assume though that attempting a turn around hook (where there is a bit of hip movement), compared to jumping straight up for a dunk (where the hip is more stationary), would hurt more. Just a guess though, as I've never had a hip injury personally.

Bogut is shootining under 40% this month, right? When has he EVER shot this poorly? If it were, say, 44-47% I'd agree that he probably just cooled off, but he's never shot anywhere near as poorly as this over an entire month. There is obviously something else going on here.

And PP25, while that would be nice, I don't think you could honestly believe that Bogut won't make an attempt to play for his national team in the Olympics. Resting and rehabbing just isn't going to happen.

I think it'd be great if he could rest up and heal this summer by skipping the australian olympics. For all his faults though, Bogut definitley toughs it out and plays hurt (especially compared to other guys on our team).

Him finishing the season hurt, not having enough time to heal, and then playing all summer at 80% is a horrible option though. It'd be a huge risk for him too considering he'll be gunning for an extension this summer.

Joint injuries can be tricky. I have a bad knee, and some days I'm all over the court while other days I feel like my leg is going to fall off if I have to move laterally. Even on my worst days I can throw down a two handed dunk off two feet, so I don't really consider that the best indicator of injury. It's just certain angles of pressure that get to me; I'm sure it's similar with Bogut.

This is along the lines of what I assumed would be the case with a hip injury.

I guess since I put the "hip" info out there I can explain it a little bit more. Its my understanding and Dan can elaborate more if he wants. He has the most paint pivoting and in slower motion. Once he is moving it isnt so bad. Its just starting moving, stopping, pivoting, and going straight up. Like I said when I put this out there. This issue would shut down a majority of NBA players and yet he is out there giving as much as he can. In between court time he sits with a heating pad on his hip trying to keep it from flaming up on him.

Dan can elaborate more if he chooses too.

That should about sum it up

Bogut is definitely a gamer. He won't miss games for injury, though sometimes he will just refuse to show up mentally.

It's really strange.
