And while the Bucks moved up one notch, his rating of us actually went down from 93.481 to 93.472

the sixers have won 7 straight so for this week they are hot....these power rankings are based on week by week.

Hollinger for the most part has an obsession with margin of victory. I think we contributed to that ranking more than the Sixers did themselves.

They also beat Miami by 17, LA Clips by 21, Dallas by 12, Memphis by 16, Knicks by 40, Orlando by 12 in the past 2 weeks or so.

I remember last year when the Spurs were having a mediocre season by their standards he had them #1 the whole season because their wins were all blowouts.

Looks like his views were validated by their title and the Mavs getting knocked out in the 1st round so we get to read his crappy rankings for longer now.

Then why would we be 26th? And didn't Toronto lose to the Knicks, yet they're 4th?

Probably because even though we beat some great teams we only won them by a a few points each. I can understand his reasoning for the margin argument but sometimes it doesn't make sense.

From his FAQ:

How can a team with a record of (X) be ranked so low, while a team with a worse record of (Y) is ahead of them?

Because win-loss record is sometimes a very misleading indicator of quality, as we saw with teams like San Antonio and Miami in the playoffs last season. Scoring margin tends to be a better predictor of success, so that's what goes into the formula.

Incorrect. They factor in the entire year. Always have. That's why they have the overall record in there.

Yahoo rankings seem to be a bit better choices. They lack the methodology and stats, but i like the picks better.
