What happend to it---this board used to be full of chinese fans giving inside info on Yi and how China is perceiving milwaukee, but now their posts are few and far between.

Are they pissed at how Yi has been used? Their input could be important, as if Yi and/or his handlers are pissed too, then it makes him leaving in what hopefully will be a team blow-up this summer more likely.

Na...They arent pissed. Yi isnt playing well is part of the reason. But most importantly, they lost confidence on this team due to the locker room issue, people simply stopped talking about this team.

The environment of dysfunction that Senator Kohl has created has not only lost us another season, it has now lost us our new found Chinese support, one of the few positive things this franchise has going for it right now.

Unbelievable.
Senator Kohl, please sell the team now before it is too late (hopefully it isn't already). You are killing this franchise.

It looks like people in hoopchina got tired of making trade Yi threads after the trade deadline. Now all the talk is about Yao's injury and the rockets. Occasionally u have a few bucks guards are clueless threads.

this is the big worry for me, as one of the keys to keeping the franchise in milwaukee is ensuring that the value of it remains high, and adding in Yi's $60 million is major for that.

Yi demanding a trade would be devastating for the franchise, because it would not be because of greed or lack of minutes----it would be becasue this franchise is so screwed up that he is not confident that he would develop the way he should here. And he'd have a point. And so would Bogut.

Chinese people are smart,so obviously it didnt take them very long to realize what a joke this franchise is.

im a chinese ,i always log on bucks board ,only keep silent .

1, my English is poor , most chinese have this question ,we cant express ourselves accutely .

2,this team dont have brain , neither have a real leader . i have said LK is too young ,we need JVG or someone else . MO+REDD are bucks' franchise players , they are good men and good players ,but as franchise players ,IMO it isnt enough for bucks to be a stronger team .maybe it is harris' fault .

3.most importantly , this team dont unite together, from chinese news ,i knew the story of buck's lock room . when LK asked his players what's wrong with this team , Bogut wanted say sth , Mo said you were on the rookie contract ,you have no saying . WTF! such team can have success ?

I'm not going to join the pity party on this thread blaming Herb Kohl for the downturn in Chinese posters.

There is only one answer to this question. It is the poor play of Yi.

If Yi were averaging 15ppg we'd have plenty of Chinese interest here. Oh, and by the way, the team would be better as well.

There are a few foreign fans who get hooked here and stay with the site, but many follow their player. Our participation from some old regulars from Australia has gone up a great deal the last two months with Bogut's resurgence for example.

We talk quite a bit about Yi's economic impact. Unfortunately unless Yi gets his act together next season, both US and Chinese fans could see him more as the next Wang Zhizhi than Yao Ming. That will mean much less economic opportunities.

As a chinese fan,I have to agree with paulpressey25.
I think the main reason was because of yi' s poor play, but also because of how pathetic this team's unbalanced constrution it was/is.
Yi was pathetic for sure, he couldn't even compare to scola or carl landry ,but Yi was not the reason why the bucks is a lottery team.
How often did you see this team perform a team's basketball?

Some advice to the NBA GMs out there: Unless a Chinese player's 7'6", be wary of his potential. The CBA is too weak to produce any NBA talent right now. It's going to take a while for them to get their act together.

Yi's still young (22-24), so he has time to improve. He's 7' and agile, so there's still hope if he can utilize his skill. He doesn't deserve the hype that was surrounding him before he was drafted though.

Sometimes he looks like a headless chicken out there on the court. He has no idea where he should be on the court.

Yi's performance has been dismal lately, it's quite a letdown for me and many others.

I still believe Yi's got talent, but Buck's coaching staff need to help Yi hone his talent, and utilize it properly on the court.

I feel whoever is in charge of developing Yi is not doing his job,

Back in Bateer/WZZ days, yea they played like crap all season long,but people were still talking about them and their team. There has been a solid Mavs/Spurs fan base even thou Bateer/WZZ played less than 200 mins in their NBA career. Fans know what they're capable of and they understand their teams were too good for them to crack the rotation.

Even Yao had a pretty bad 10+ games stretch in his rookie season, you didnt see fans stopped paying attention to the team.

Take a little tour at Hoopchina.com, check the posts per day before the locker room story came out, then compare to posts per day after that, now you know what Im talking about.

I agree with this. I don't blame Kohl entirely for Yi, as Yi gets a ton of minutes and could, at hte very least, play better defense. No one besides Yi has anything to do wtih him completely forgetting how to shoot either.

However, I think our team could do a whole lot more to ensure his development. We have no players on our team who help set him up to score, and I bet his issues defensively are exacerbated by our team having no desire to play D and no clue how to do it even when they're trying.
