I just ran it 25 times.

#2 pick - 2 times
#3 pick - 1 time
#8 pick - 19 times
#9 pick - 3 times

I suck at this.

The noteworthy thing about this is that now Chad Ford in effect has his top-ten up.....

So you see Gordon, Mayo, Bayless, etc. all going before the 8th pick.....

Looks like we'll need to watch Collison and Augustin pretty hard here in March.

I just ran it, we got the ninth pick and we got Chase Budinger. I think I am going to be sick.

Well if we got a younger Kukoc type player to play the 3, that'd be awesome. But I haven't heard any hype on this guy like Yao, Yi, Darko, Bargs. This just seems out of no where.

He is actually Italian, but anyway...

Big small forward with average athleticism, good shooter, suppossedly clutch...

Scouting report makes him sound a lot like Ersan...

Bayless is a beast. Granted, he's not the pass first guy everyone wants, but the guy can really score and does it at a high %. Actually solid assist numbers too, given how many shots he takes.

What do you guys think of that Nicholas Batum? Does he have the potential like Rudy Gay does? I read some stuff about him on nbadraft but was wondering what you guys thought.

He's incredible. Seriously. I've never seen him play but that doesn't disqualify me from being an NBA GM-level evaluator.

Ugh if we stay in this 8-10 range I rather just trade the pick. Maybe to the Nets for their 2 picks?

He scares me. I have never seen him play either, but I don't like what I've read. He's one of the most talented players of his age, but apparently has never really put it together. Never dominated/led his team far in junior events, hasn't proven too much at senior level either (yet).

Diaw was French league MVP before he came over, Barghnani proved he could dominate (at times) among the pro's in Italy - just like Galinari is doing now. There seem to be so few players who fail to dominate as youth players but still blossom into solid pro's, I'd rather avoid that type.

Besides, this leaderless team needs a rookie with killer instinct / fearlessnes, someone capable of surviving on his own.

Does Batum play on a "national team"?

I want us to stay away from any guys who play on a national team....we're already too heavily exposed to risk with Bogut and Yi playing year-round.

Pretty much any international player who doesn't suck will fall into that category, but the Chinese are somewhat notorious for having their guys play more random games than other national teams.

At the eight spot your options really come down to a lot of guys with major question marks...that's what sucks most about our position. Watching some youtube stuff on Galinari and reading scouting reports, he's become a major player in Europe but he's also doesn't wow you with athleticism and who knows if he'll ever be even an average defender. Then you have Batum who has all the physical tools but hasn't stepped up for his club team the way you might hope.

I just want a guy who will play some defense.
