Again. I think this deserves it's own thread as it's kind of been glossed over.

If you want to pay this guy huge money and bow to his every whim, well... good luck.

It's frightening because it isn't the first time he has done it either.

Yeah this was just a disgusting display. Right after he goes on the radio and says what this team needs he goes out and quits on the team. Isn't that refreshing everybody?

I'm as big a Bogut supporter as you get, but he needs to be called out on this crap----if only to hlep our contract negotiations with him, as there's no way he should be making statements about what our team needs to do for him to stay here if he's not willing to give his all.

Depessingly, I think he still tries harder on D more often than anyone on our team. However, we'll never get anywhere if he doesn't COMPLETELY turn this around.

I would kill to have a defensive minded center who does all the little things while also making players around him better on offense. At this point though, i'm pretty sick of every single thing that has to do wtih our team. Damn.

The biggest mistake that Stotts made was after the fourth playoff game and Bogut's lack of effort during it, particularly the second half, not benching him for the 5th game and saying exactly why he was doing it. I am sure that would have ended his job immediately, as Harris and Kohl were hawking the wonders of Andrew; but it is what was needed.

You can never let anyone give up during a game with no consequences. The only consequences for Bogut for that display was he got his way about being the starting center and the things necessary for that to make any sense (getting rid of Ford for a PF who could create space from 15 ft shootingfor Bogut, getting rid of Magloire who would have killed bogut in practice, etc.) The guy who quit duirng a critical playoff game ( it would have been 2-2) got rewarded instead of a boot to the ass. No wonder the behavior gets repeated.

Agreed in full. Sadly, I dont think LK has nearly the credibility that even Stots had with the team or the fans to amke it worth him calling out Bogut (in fact, I think it would have helped stotts a lot to call out bogut/redd/mo more often).

Larry Harryis, Herb Kohl, or maybe a player like Desmond Mason or Michael Redd should say something aobut this though. It's long past time for this emo crap to end.

I remember over a year ago Pliska came on and said Dalembert >>>>> Bogut. At the time it was a shocking statement on these boards. Very few bought into it. Yet I recite it all the time since afterwards I've watched both guys closely. And I hate to say it, but for the last two years, I'd rather have had Dalembert on my team. He's an elite rebounder and shotblocker.....and seems to be able to score about as well as Bogut does.

I keep waiting for Bogut to break out and leave Dalembert in the dust. But then he's always full of games like these make you realize that Bogut has a long way to go....a long way.

I agree with my previous statements and your review of them.

Dalembert is still a superior athlete, defender and rebounder while Bogut has far superior offensive skills.

Two different type of players, but they are both on the same level.

I also wish that Bogut could turn the corner and really elevate his game to be something besides just an average/slightly above average player... But he hasn't.

I can envision the Bucks nervously paying Bogut whatever it costs to retain him, in order to avoid "losing him for nothing." Will probably make the same mistake that was made with Redd.

I just lowered my offer on the contract extension from our thread 10-days ago.....5-years/$50 million. Otherwise let him blow up next season and prove it to us.

We should remember that Dalembert has been in the league longer than bogut, so he certainly has a lot of time to turn the effort around just like Dalembert. His effort also started turning around when they dumped the selfish prima donna Allen Iverson (I'm a fan of his, but there's no doubt that this is what he became by the end of his tenure in philly).

I'm hoping that if we get an experienced coach willing to call Bogut and others out in combination of us dumping selfish and lazy players will inspire Bogut to turn it around like Dalembert in a big way.

If he does that, then I would prefer Bogut for his infinitely superior bball iq (especially passing), but our team despreatley needs this to stop.

We do not know why Bogut is shutting down. The Bucks are so screwed up right now I would not be surprised if they told him to take it easy. CV is getting a lot more shots over the last few games. Are they showcasing him more to increase his trade value? Who really wants the Bucks to get the 8th seed at 10 games under .500 ? Would it be better to have shot at a higher pick that could help us move players and picks or just draft a better player? Right now this means nothing. The team is crap and we all know it.

I'm holding out hope that Bogut's still having hip problems that are accounting for his recent issues. If so, perhaps they should shut him down for a week or two or the season. No point playing him if he's that badly injured.

If it isn't the hip then his recent play has just been dirt, no doubt. I'm at the point where I think that the talk this offseason shouldn't be about an extension but rather a trade. I just don't think he's happy with his place on the team or in the organisation. His trade value is still good enough, so this offseason would be the time to roll the dice. If the Bucks can get a serviceable centre and someone that brings consistently good play then go for it. Better for both parties if they part ways.

We can't shut Bogut down. Fantasy playoffs are coming up.
