21 and 11.7 for the year, pretty damn good.

All that will make him an even more attractive recruit to a list of interested schools that he says already includes UW, Marquette, Florida, Texas, Iowa, Baylor and Iowa State.

Interesting that he lists all those teams as interested, but no firm offers from any of those schools as of yet. Florida and Texas are pretty big name schools.

I have to believe academics is one of the main things keeping UW from offering, along with possibly lack of fit in the swing offense.

Well on rivals I am only seeing Florida State and not Florida which is a pretty big difference.

Also, you can't just assume academics are the issue...I only saw about 10 minutes of the game but in that span he seemed more like a PF type player, and most big time D1 schools aren't looking for a 6'5" power forward(maybe I'm wrong). He is also isn't rated by rivals so maybe he is either a recruit that is really just making a name for himself in the last few weeks or they are waiting to see if he can develop more of an outside game before putting offers on the table.

ETA: scout.com has even less high-profile options listed for him. I think he was relatively unknown until recently or he is a bit too small for his current role/skill set.

I remember in 8th grade, I believe, going to a few games where we played against Joah Tucker from Nicolet. At the time, everyone was talking about how he had been getting a bunch of offers but in the end, his best choice was Bradley. Why? He was 6'5 and an interior player. Sure, he dribbled up the court for them to put the facade on that he could handle it but at the time he didn't have a great outside shot and wasn't great off the dribble either. We all know that he then developed that perimeter game and was a key piece in the UWM puzzle a few years later after a transfer.

This kid is ridiculously talented and I hope UW can snag him.

Academics ARE an issue, that isn't speculation. He is having major trouble keeping up in the classroom.

And I've already stated the other above concerns several times. The guy is a great athlete but he's no taller than 6-6 and doesn't really have any perimeter skills YET. That said, I'm still surprised that ZERO big name schools have offered a scholarship, given how well he has played this year and given his potential under a good coach.

I think Ryan could develop him, but I know that Wilson is their #1 priority and they are somewhat concerned about Maymon being eligible.

I don't care about his outside game, this kid is a beast down low, and if the badgers don't grab him, marquette or UWM might. He is a man's man. Memorial has got to be the favorites to win state next year with him.
