Bucks-Wiz Postgame (Another 2007 post-Yi rook beats us)

Nick Young...another guy picked after Yi kills us.
The Bogut-CV dynamic duo appears for a six minute stretch in the third.....could this happen on a regular basis?
Discuss.

Great game from Bogut after a poor first quarter. Great offensive game from Villanueva with a strong night on the boards. Too much Redd in the fourth and not enough Bogut and Villanueva.
I hope Herb enjoyed the show.

I don't really understand why that happened. Do Bogut/CV just get tired....or passive.....or does Redd just hog the ball? Why nothing from Larry K. to stop this.....
And with all our TO's, don't you think we could have seen Sessions play?

What's new though. I've yet to see Redd take it easy in the 4th and let the game come to him. To many times I've seen him try to take it over when it's obvious he's as unclutch as they come.
Anyways, this game was a joke. Wash is missing their two best players, two players better than any single one of our players and we still lost big.

That would make way too much sense to play Sessions. That's the last thing I expect to see at this point - an intelligent team decision.
Back to Redd - he shot very well in the fourth quarter but I'll be critical of him just like I have been with Mo in similar situations. He dominated the ball too much and ignored the players who were really playing at a high level (Bogut and Villanueva). This is an example of a player shooting a good percentage but not doing it within the team concept.
This is why I don't think the chuck and duck approach has much potential even if it can put up gaudy stats. Redd's shooting percentage in the fourth quarter was great, but it didn't result in success because (in my opinion) it wasn't grounded in team play. That's at the heart of the chuck and duck approach and why I believe it's doomed to fail.

All is good in Tankland.

That post-Yi rook can do this:

Yi can't. He's also likely younger than Yi. And has the same last name as the last younger-than-Yi rookie to beat us. Fascinating.

Yes in fact he tried to dunk it.

Redd's turnovers hurt us more then anything else. CV fading down the stretch is on CV though. He had a couple of clean looks where he flat out missed.

This whole Yi thing is rather troubling to me right now......
It would appear that:
a) He's older - most likely 23 going on 24
b) Other rookies drafted after him are starting to break out (the rookie wall is a myth)
c) The whole China National team thing will kill this guy.
d) If he sucks....all that $$ that Kohl is counting on will dry up. Again, no one makes a mint off a player like Wang Zhi-Zhi.
I'd feel real good about Yi if I knew he was getting the summer off. Instead the Sporting News ran that story last week about how Yao is ready to fall apart from his CNT obligations, which include THIRTY GAMES this summer pre-Olympics. How's Yi going to play 30 games this summer plus the Olympics?

All of these statements are reasons to shop Yi this offseason. Package him to get rid of a Simmons or Gadzaretard.

30 games??? Jesus, that's 112 on his schedule, and if we were a better team that made the playoffs, we'd be looking at 120 or 130. When is he supposed to work with a trainer and learn how to catch passes?

The bolded part concerns me the most. I still believe he has quality skill and I can appreciate that he's tired but to just have his rookie season get flushed straight into the toilet while so many other rookies are playing great is pretty hard to take.
I was going to post something about this - but does anybody think he'll even make the All-Rookie team? I don't see how he can given how poorly he's finishing.

The Chinese National Team won't do squat in the olympics so you won't have to worry about a medal round for them, but yeah Yi is going to be worthless to the Bucks next fall.

Redd has an obsession with utterly dominating the ball in the 4th, and it really p***es me off. Bogut and CV were dominating in the 3rd and were the entire reason we got back into this game in the first place, but instead of riding that Redd essentially completely removes them from the offense by dribbling the air out of the ball, giving crap force turnovers and shooting. I don't care what his percentage was in the 4th, his play completely destroyed our momentum and cost us any chance at the win, even though we clearly had the momentum through the 3rd.
This guy simply HAS to be FORCED to play within the team concept or there is no place for him on this team.
End Rant.
Bogut and CV excellent games. CV's D was very poor in the first half but his offense was good, Bogut outstanding on both ends before Redd wrote his name on the ball in the 4th. CV and Bogut teaming like that would be very very difficult for opposition to guard if it could become a consistent thing.

If we were getting such a huge project, like Yi appears to be, I would rather have Thaddeus Young, who is starting to play well in Philly.
Julian Wright is also playing well lately.

Here is a GREAT link to a story on how Yao has to just say no to the CNT to stay healthy. If I read that below, it sounds like Yi starts his next season real soon.....
http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/vi ... p?t=374974
"....This year, Chinese pro teams have ended their season early so the national team can begin training later this month. China is expected to play a pre-Olympics schedule of about 30 games. The U.S. team, meanwhile, will spend about three weeks together this summer before the Olympics....."

Has Coach K ever been critical of anything in a post game PC? You'd think we had 50 wins right now.
We gained a game on Indy tonight though.
