Non Basketball thoughts Bucks/Heat

Sparse crowd tonight. (Very generous)

Bogut was at the end of the bench talking to Sessions the entire night. Found that very interesting. When the game was being played I don't think Bogut said one word to any other player. Sessions and Bogut were thick as thieves.

Matt Foley (I think it was him, it was all the way across the arena) had a HUGE sign that said "Wanted Playoff Tickets." Thought that was pretty funny.

Brian Winters had his ceremony. Didn't get a standing O. Kohl actually got some boos when he was introduced. Our campaign on here may be having an effect.

Caught a shirt from one of the guys. Unwrapped it to take a look at it.
Had the Bucks logo on it and of course underneath it said

"Where Amazing Happens."

O the irony.

Also Brian Winters took a jab at the current team saying there are better days ahead of this franchise. Very much took me by surprise.

I don't think we need non-basketball threads anymore. The stuff that the Bucks do on the court these days doesn't classify as basketball so the post-"game" threads are basically non-basketball threads.

Yeah i caught that too, basically encouraging the fans to stick around, said things are going to get better. I wonder if Kohl put him up to that.

Sounds like the truth to me. The team sucks!
But I agree that it was said in a way that the fans shouldn't give up on the franchise because of their long history of excellence. It's always darkest before the dawn as they say.

lol

I guess it's easy money for that cop since there wont be no more encounters anymore.....no one wants to hurt kohl but ask him why he is a horrible owner..

as far as non-basketball thoughts from the game, I figure we all have people that we sit by at games that we swear are sent by god or Herb Kohl to annoy us. Anyway, we got this one guy that sits by us, we are in the last row of the lower bowl by the way, on the angle. He is probably about 50 pushing 60 and every game he is obsessed with getting whatever free stuff they are giving anyway. He usually just makes an ass of himself, but tonight he brought it to a whole new level. He brought a piece of 4x6 paper and wrote "Bell is JUST awesome!" then I heard him say he made it to get noticed. Now obviously we don't get much thrown are way being in the last row and right below the upper deck, so whatever is thrown our way is usually in front or above us. I just always have douche bags sitting by me every year it seems. Oh yeah, he also tried to do the robot when the dance cam came on!

It is possible that I am overreacting, its probably just having to sit through this crap of a team night in and night out.

haha, naw, he doesn't have a Bucks bag he carries with him. Also forgot to mention for a 5-6 game stretch he kept bringing this Bucks clapper thing to the game...so damn annoying.

Nowak, I don't think you should understate the amount of booing there was when Kohl was introduced.

I would say it was really audible that Kohl was being booed by at least 25% of people there.

I looked around and was really surprised at the diversity of people that were booing. People of all ages, upper bowl and lower bowl.

I was with someone who really knew nothing about the Bucks. A college basketball fan who knew the game, but recently moved here. When Kohl was introduced during the halftime ceremony, he asked me out on his own accord "Do fans not like the owner or something?"

I had to try and capture what the current setiment there was towards Kohl at this time.

He recognized we had more talent on our squad, but couldn't comprehend why a team that had three D-Leaguers playing big time minutes was able to beat us at the end.

I saw Foley with the sign "Wanted: Playoff Tickets"....that was great

That was at the top of the section that I was sitting in.

Kohl was in the next section over, sitting by himself.

He stayed to the end I give him that.

We can only hope he decides to make some changes to this team.

My opinion is the coach is the #1 priority. I would be ecstatic if the Rick Carlisle rumor has some real legs to it.

I'll just put these here because these are on my mind

#1. Why doesn't Bobby Simmons play anymore?

BuckSkins, please chime in here, I don't understand why Bobby can't get off the bench. Is he refusing to play? Or is LK refusing to play him?

#2 Where is Jake Voskuhl? He was not with the team tonight and even if he was I haven't noticed him for two months? Why is he glued to the bench?

You may want to rethink that internet friends forever. I obtained this photo on what Nowak is trying to do to your computer.

I also noticed the nice playoff ticket sign. The minority booing Herb was louder than the applause I thought. The Brian Winters plea to Bucks fans reminded me a little of an English soccer game I saw where management was asking the fans to stick with a team that was facing relegation.

Oh he did.. I went over to his section and he took his sweet time to leave. I then asked him if he can get me playoff tickets when he was like 3 feet away. Just ignored me. When he got food before the game my buddy yelled "sell the team!" to him. He is getting worked left and right.

This is actually really great news. It is such a stretch that this guy is the savior, but it is possible. If he doesn't get big minutes down the stretch, so that the team can know if they need to draft Darren Collison, I'm going to light myself on fire.

Our model should be those 90's Indiana Pacers. We really need for Sessions to be our Mark Jackson. Bogut is our Dale Davis, Yi is our Rik Smits, and Redd of course, is Reggie Miller.

Then, we just really need to find our Derrick McKey. Our athletic wing defender who is a smart team player, a passer, and an open shot maker. Could be our very own Ersan Ilyasova. In the draft, it looks to be Batum, Rush, or Smith. For what it's worth, Batum is sliding down DX's draft board, currently at 15. Rush is at 21, Smith at 24.

So, here is what we do. Step one, which everyone here agrees upon, is to play Sessions big minutes down the stretch, in order to determine if we need to draft a point guard.

Step two, is in the offseason, we use Williams and Villanueva and our lottery pick, in an attempt to move either one or both of Simmons and Gadzuric - at the same time netting expiring contracts, young role players, and mid-to-late first round draft picks and early-to-mid second round picks.

Teams to work with on this are:

Portland
New Jersey
New York
Memphis

Step three, is for Herb to take his hands off, hire a President of Basketball Operations, let that guy hire the GM, who hires the coach. Or, if it's Larry Brown, let him have dual titles. Whoever it is for those positions, they need to be experienced, reputable, and have credibility. Ron Walter should probably be fired or neutered.

After doing taking those three steps, we should be on the way to being a winning team in the east. At least, that's the way it looks to me...
