He'd fit perfectly and he kills them but the perception is that Cleveland have no assets worth trading for. Most here either want Mo gone or moved to 6th man if he'd accept it. So what if we trade Mo for a guy who plays the first guard off the bench role and actually likes doing it.

Mo for Daniel Gibson, Joe Smith and their 1st.

Gibson is a awesome at hitting the open three and Joe Smith gives us a veteran and depth at a weak position. We'd need to find a starting PG still though.

Why do this? Gibson is a poor man's Mo Williams and will probably end up being paid quite bit this offseason. Smith is at the end of his career and their pick will be in the late 20s.

Gibson is a worse playmaker and a worse scorer than Mo is. He basically just hits open 3's off LeBron double teams, not much else. I would like to get another pick, but I don't really think this makes us any better.

I wouldn't do this, personally. I like the idea of a pick and a veteran PF, but I don't like Gibson's game.

If we already had a deal for another starting PG in place, I'd consider it a little more, but I ultimately don't think it helps us out.

Gibson's a free agent and no way we'd want to commit to him. How about this though:


Bucks trade: Mo Williams, Bobby Simmons, Charlie Villanueva
Cavs trade: Anderson Varajao, Eric Snow, Joe Smith, Damon Jones


Our team is desperate for team first, high bball iq, defensive minded guys just like Smith and Snow, and I can see Varajao having a long term future here in addition to that. Damon Jones sucks but he is in a contract year, and we could use another good attitude guy in the lockerroom even if he isn't going to play much of a role on the court (man I hope he wouldn't).

Does anyone here actually like the bucks anymore? Good god these are some of the worst trade proposals ive ever seen.

Eric Snow is 35 and Joe Smith is 33. By the time this team is ready to do anything those two will be retired.

I guess i'm one of the few that would rather see Redd gone. Those guys are 2 of my favorite players, they are both exciting to watch. but I agree with the general sentiment that the bucks need to unload one of these guys. If Micheal Redd stays, he's the franchise player, no question about it. But Mike can't be a franchise guy, he's not good enough to carry a team on his shoulders. If we keep mo, he could be integrated into whatever the new system will be. Mo is a little younger, and I would say that this year he has been almost as good as mike redd. I'll admit when mo is bad, he's bad. But most nights he does a legitimate job at running the offense he's told to run.

I agree with this. Cleveland has nothing of use to the Bucks.

They're big ending contracts, and they'll help get rid of the lazy selfish culture here. Dropping Simmons and the rest of the scum on the team is a priority in my mind.

Lazy selfish culture whatever. There has to be a point though where the talent downgrade is so big that it would be a horrible move. This is one of those trades.

Varajeo averages 9 boards a game about coming off the bench while playing great defense and generally smart basketball. He's the exact kind of player we need.

That in combination with two veterans to help change our team culture and clear out Bobby's horrid deal would make me REALLY happy if this went through. If this is the wosrt trade you've seen, you must think our guys have dramatically mroe value than they do.

1. He's a hustle player. We can find someone like that in the 2nd round of the draft. We shouldn't be trading for hustle, role players when we're nowhere close to being a contender.

2. The only veteran of the group you listed that I would want is Smith. No other way around it, Jones and Snow suck.

As for Bobby's horrid deal. I'd actually rather just hang onto it. After next year it's not going to be a horrible deal. It's going to be a $10 million expiring.

We have very different philosophies over what our team needs. I dont' see us as having enough trade assets to get a superstar---though I'd love it if we could. Rather, I see us with a lockerroom that will prevent young players from reaching their potnetial or wanting to stay here.

I think if we surround Bogut, Yi, and whoever we draft this year with hard working defensive minded guys we can make good on their potential, and at the worst have great trade assets in the future. Right now though, I think we just have overpaid selfish guys we're looking to trade, and there are very limited teams I think are desperate enough to give up much value at all for the likes of Mo/Redd/CV/Simmons/Bell/Gadz.

Wow, i'm surprised to hear Eric Snow is still in the NBA, i thought the guy was around 40 years old by now.

So i go check hoopshype and see the dude is making 6 million this year and 7 next year. Who the hell gave him that contract?

This idea altogether disregards the fact that Mo is horrible for the Cavs... he needs to ball to be effective, and with LBJ on board they are much better off with spot up guys like Boobie. Redd fits them better, although arguably Korver and Kapono fit them even better than Redd.

Although, Mo could be a good first option for them once LBJ bolts to NY (one for L&H!).

Mo is actually a perfect fit on the Cavs. Mo is perfect next to a SG or SF that can really create (LeBron, Wade, Roy, Kobe, McGrady, etc), because as playmaker Mo is average, but is a great scorer and can really shoot the jumpshot. Playing next to LeBron he would give them another ballhandler and a guy that could murder people from 3 off of double teams. He would also be by far the Cavs second best penetrator in the halfcourt.

I guess Mo has a lot more value than I thought going by this thread. I hope you guys are right.
