Seems like a number of names in there who could be brought in to work underneath the Kohl/Ron Walter power structure......

But no real "names" that you know could challenge the Kohl/Ron Walter structure.......

Some decent talent there but as PP says, no one that most fans would say "WOW!".

I hate seeing Sund and Babcocks name there.

Does Joey Hammond have anything to do with the Pistons drafting lately? If so I would take him fairly quickly, especially from that list... I think he'd have the best "pedigree" considering he's coming from not only a championship team, but a tough defensive championship team. Polar opposite of the Bucks but that's a good thing.

The Bucks can definitely find someone better than Babcock out of that list. If they do hire Babcock or Sund, it just screams complacency by the organization.

Kiki Vandeweghe should be on that list


He was instrumental in reshaping the Nuggets roster and knows how to clear out bad contracts



I'd take the guys from the Pistons or Mavericks although I know nothing about them.


But they could be the "outside perspective with a history of success" that Herb is referring to

Babcock in charge of the draft? Legitimate contender for the GM position? Kohl, rather than totally destruct the team, sell it already!

It's depressing how critical this appointment is for the future of the franchise.

The hiring of a new GM is critical for any team no matter what their situation.

I hate Babcock teases.

None of those names turn me on.

None of those guys are big names, but alot seem to have some qualifications that could really help the bucks.

I like the idea of bringing in a guy with alot of experience in a winning organization even if he isn't a name.

Yeah many of these guys may be qualified but because it would be their first shot at being a GM they are likely to not ask for, nor receive, total control.

My thought's exactly. Kohl could hire the brightest and the best, but unless they have the power to overrule the inner circle then, really, what difference does it make who's brought in?

Kohl has to do one of two things here:

a) Hire a bigger name than what is on that list (Walsh, Larry Brown, Kiki, etc)

or

b) Hire a guy on that list, but then move Ron Walter out of the organization and note that this new guy is taking his place.

We'd still have the Kohl meddling factor, but presumably this new guy would be over all the remaining employees except for Kohl. I could live with that. Anything where Ron Walter stays on in a role of influence or the new guy isn't made the #2 person behind Herb will be viewed by the fans as a failure.

The question that unfortunately wasn't asked of Herb at last week's press conference and should have been "Will this new person you hire be considered the #2 person in the organization not only in title but actual power?"

Mark me down for John Hammond. You have to love what the Pistons have done. As with any hire, we can only hope he gets some slack from Kohl.

I don't know who John Hammond is but if he has any hand in the pistons' success by drafting or whatever I'll take him.

With meddling on the front burner I wonder if a GM could be brought in with a bonus or golden parachute upon quitting in the contract that would triggered if Kohl vetoed too many trades.
