Willing to give the backcourt another chance??

I know the majority of people here want either Mo, Redd or both gone. There's a alot of valid reasons that have been posted as far as trading both, citing there defense, chuckem's style of play, low IQ, etc... But when they play up to ability there one of the best starting backcourts in the NBA. Given they both make some tweaks to there game, like showing a renewed effort on defense, running and letting the offense come to them, (Which I think will happen if we bring in the right GM and a good coach) I'm willing to give them another chance and I would like to keep both instead of trading them.

My question is, what would it take for them and the Bucks organization to do for you to be willing to Mo & Redd another chance to be our starting backcourt next year??

Defend at an above average level. Every night.

So no, I don't see tem ever making me want to give the duo together another chance. The only way I'd give either of them a chance is if one of them is shipped out.

I don't particularly care for much of what I hear on ESPN radio, but I was listening over lunch today and Tim Legler was discussing something I've been saying here for years: a team's defends only as well as its star player. He cited the Nugs. They've got an All-NBA defender in Camby but as a team they defend like crap because their two stars, Iverson and 'Melo, basically could give a **** on that end. When the stars won't defend, how can they get on guys like Kleiza and Smith and Carter when they don't either?

The Bucks need that star player, and one that is willing to defend. It's why I don't understand the love for Collison or Smith or other role players in this upcoming draft. Unless one of them ends up an All-NBA type, their defense won't amount to much when nobody else wants to commit on that end.

I'd do whatever it took to land that stud we need. If it's at PG (Rose) then hope for the #2 or trade up. If it's Mayo, do the same. Neither are outstanding on that end, but they're better than what we have and both have the potential to be stars IMO.

i'd be ok with both back if we brought in a respected defensive oriented coach and added a good defender at the 4 or 3.

otherwise i think redd should bounce

Get an actual coach in here and you can sign me up.

I'm definitely willing to give Mo and Redd another shot at playing together.

BUT, it's going to take at least two things to happen.

1) An experienced head coach that they will listen to.

2) A stud defensively at the 3 spot. Shawn Marion would be perfect, although I doubt we have what it takes to get him (that we're willing to give up)

This season was their last chance as far as im concerned...there is basically nothing that can be done where I wouldnt think they need to be broken up.

And this is coming from a guy who defended them up until about the mid-way point this year. Im done with the pair. I would be okay with keeping one of them. And I also think whatever team that the other one goes to will benefit from having one of those two on their team. They are very talented players but just a terrible combo together as everyone by now should know.

Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

Yeah, that is insanity, but stupidity wouldn't be very far behind if they keep the backcourt together. I see no possible way it can work.

The best the Bucks can do with Redd as a starter is be a fringe playoff team.

The best the Bucks can do with Mo as a starter is be a lottery team.

It's time to aim higher.

that's funny and all, but just to clarify, adding a defender and a new respected coach is not the same thing

Exactly. Let's surround them with equal or more talented players along with a good coach and then let's see what happens.

How could we possibly afford to pay Mo and Redd $25 million a year plus have more talented players?

I'd do a Michael Redd, Charlie Villaneuva deal to NO David West and Mike James
