Walsh Is Out So Go Get John Hammond

This is the guy I'd like to see the Bucks hire now that Walsh is out of the picture. He's well respected in league circles, he has a strong background with championship success and he's worked at a wide variety of levels at various capacities at both the pro and collegiate levels.

For those of you who may not know much about him, here's some background on who I hope will be the next GM of the Milwaukee Bucks:

John Hammond

John Hammond enters his sixth year as vice president of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons. He was promoted to his current position after serving as the club

The only question is do the idiots let him make deals that he sees fit.

I'd be fine with that, but I do know Hammond (along with Tony Ronzone) were big in the drafting of Darko at #2.

There needs to be strength in numbers here. Hire Hammond along with a couple qualified basketball people to an the front office. Give them titles of President of Basketball operations, General Manager or whatever, but have enough staff in the front office so that people can come at Herb from different angles.

No GM will get them all right, Chuck. That was a pretty big mistake but the Pistons' way of doing things has been extremely productive. Hammond has been a part of that. He comes from a winning culture and his resume is loaded with experience. If he could just bring the Pistons' financial mindset to Milwaukee that would be a major step in the right direction.

Yeah it was a pretty huge mistake, but like I said I'd be fine with Hammond.

Where do I sign?

If he has a relative who needs his help still living in Zion, Ill., the Bucks might have a chance. I can see why someone would make the Darko mistake. He has some impressive games at center sometimes.

One of the many things I like about him is, unlike his predecessor, he didn't learn at the feet of an incompetent GM but rather from one of the game's best.

At this point, these are the only two names I would be absolutely irate with as a GM hire. If it is either of these guys, hide the women and children.

Hammond appears intelligent, has experience and comes from a winning organization. I'd be all about getting him in here.

Actually there is no question. I don't expect Senator Kohl to let ANYONE make deals or anything without his direct imprint being on it.. so honestly, I'm not optimistic regardless of what body is finally put in that position.

if kohl's gonna make the decisions, is there some way we can just get him an nba tutor?

get someone to teach him some things about the game maybe

It really doesn't matter who the GM is as long as this guy is calling the shots

I fhe can bring here a big powerful T-Rex to play PF and a speedy atheltic Velociraptor to play SF, I'm in. Oh, we could try with a compsognatus as starting PG. Sorry, Guys, this awful team and the Heat losses have m,ade me crazy.

Talking seriously, it would be a very good hire, if he can have total control of basketball operations.
