Would you trade Bogut for Rose?
Miami or New York calls Milwaukee on draft day. They want Bogut, and they are offering up the #1 pick for him (Bucks want Rose). Do you pull the trigger?

My initial gut reaction is yes, but i've only seen Rose play four times i think. I'd want the ability to watch every single game he played before saying for sure yes. I'd also like to talk to all of his coaches to be positive that Rose has the great attitude and work ethic that he seems to have.
If after doing both things, my feeling is the same as after watching him in the tournament, i'd probably have to say yes.

If only we were all as smart and level headed as Bucks Revenge.
Meanwhile, I think El Dude has it right. I can't vote on this after seeing Rose play twice. I'd want access to every possession from this season.
There's a lot to be excited about with Rose though. I'd be willing to trade Mo/Redd/CV/#7 for him and bad contracts if it were possible to work that out amongst several teams.
But Bogut? That's our lone bright spot you're talking about.

Yes it would, which is why I pray the new GM will explore the possibility, albeit likely remote one.
As for the question, I mentioned in a different thread yesterday that I'd probably do the trade without our pick. I'll gamble with Thabeet & Rose, Hibbert & Rose, or Jordan & Rose.
Go Bucks!

Tough call. Again, we haven't been scouting Rose since high school. I'd want some time to break down game tapes.
The contract thing is huge though IMO. We could be paying Bogut 10-12 million for the next few years or paying Rose 4-5 million. For a team in need of a rebuild, the latter certainly gives more flexibility.
No way I do it with the pick, and I explore all other options. Redd/Mo/CV/Yi/#7 would all be on the table for me.
In the end, I do it if I think Rose could be a franchise guy even if it's a 50% shot. Because I think at this point, we're looking at roughly a 0% chance of it happening with Bogut.
But, if we enter next year with Bogut, Rose, and nothing much else, I'll be ecstatic. Rome was not built in a day, and atleast that would give us a solid foundation.

Then I'd deal the 7th pick and Simmons for Brad Miller......and Mo for Haslem.......
I'm waffling here......this is a tough one.
Ugh. Why.
No rookie PG ever wins anything other than Magic Johnson. Those are some bad win-now deals when we'd be looking to win in year three with Rose and hopefully Yi hitting their stride.
In this scenario, I still trade down to pick up Rush and Dorsey, who will be good NBA role players in 3 years. Then, I trade Mo and Redd to clear Gadz and Simmons for future cap flexibility.
In 3 years we're left with (hopefully in quotes)....
Rose (franchise)
Yi (near All-Star)
2009 pick (near All-Star (we'll be really bad next year))
Rush (role player)
Dorsey (role player)
Cap Flexibility
