Wow, 3 posters post this same exact thread in a span of 30 seconds, amazing. Anyway, I never thought that Indiana would hire Crean, this is surprising.

Ya think there are some former Marquette basketball people who are thrilled with this news? I just talked to one on the phone...and I bet you did too.

I was like 12 when they had Jim Mcilvaine. I forgot what a center in a Marquette uniform looks like.

Crean may not have been the best coach, but can they find a better one?

Could we get a big man now?
Surprising news. Indiana is a marquee basketball name but that job is amongst violations, turmoil, etc. Crean had it d*cked at MU. Oh well.
MU has talent and in a power conference, should find a good replacement.
BRING IN THE GENERAL!

I must admit, Bob Knight as coach would be awesome. He might be able to teach James some fundamentals.

Yeah no kidding. At least we wont have to hear about how he is a candidate for every coaching job that became availiable.

Do you think Tony Bennett would turn down Indiana for Marquette?
Who are some hot names in the mid-majors? Whatever happened to that VCU coach?
Majerus?

well they just talked to Steve Lavin on 1250 about this and afterwards they asked him if he would be interested in coaching Marquette and he said that Marquette is one of the few schools he would very interested coaching....so I think they will be able to find a good coach.

I believe Bennett would consider coming back to the state. His dad still lives here. Plus do you think he wants to go into a situation where two players got kicked off, plus White and Gordon are going into the draft. Plua the upcoming probation facing the team

Nice, addition by subtraction for MU.
