Pretty self explanatory. Where do you think Kohl and the new GM (possibly coach) will be taking this team in the summer?

My best guess is that the plan will be to win now.

I think Kohl has been humiliated (thanks in part to RealGM). I think he'll try his damnedest to put a winner out there next year so that Project: Scapegoat LH and Project: Appear Competent in any Way will look more successful. In addition, I think that the new GM (and coach) will look at their predecessors and how quickly they were bounced out of Milwaukee, due in large part to missing the playoffs.

The first time I said it, it was a joke, but in reality I believe it: Kohl wants a guy who can promise rebuilding for the future while making the playoffs, and doing so without trading more than one of Mo/Redd/Yi/Bogut/CV/Mason.

Am I remembering correctly that Kohl said at the press conference that the team would not be blown up? Every hand in the room should have shot up to ask how he could possibly know that if the GM is the one deciding the direction.

Dump Redd , Mo, and CV.

I think we'll again try to do both, just like always.

It will be playoffs or bust, but rather than try to get that one extra guy like Brand, we'll keep Yi. So a struggle to 40 wins.

There is only one thing that can save us. Winning the lotto and Derrick Rose. I'm convinced if we get that guy, our future is great. If not, we are in for a mess.

We will miss Larry Harris in the role of "trader" this summer, because that was his best skill. I have no doubt Larry, if left alone, could have blown this team up and acquired picks and players and cap flexibility. Then let the new GM start right after Larry has blown it up.

I think we are going to try to win now but at the same time rebuild...I think as long as you have Bogut and Redd (if he stays and I hope not) you have a chance to win....Bogut is going to be a stud next season just build around him now. I see Bogut putting up 22/12 next season.

I disagree. Larry Harris sounded completely truthful in his press conference when saying that he believes the group of guys he put together with one minor tweak would be a playoff team. I think he was too emotionally attached to his prior decisions to admit that they were wrong and "undo" them all.

You might be right about Larry. But then again, we hear all these conflicting stories about what he was or wasn't allowed to do.

I think the team on the court we are seeing is plan "C".

I think he stunk at drafting. And FA also So I wouldn't have him handle that.

I'm just pointing out that if you wanted somebody to send Redd, Mo, and CV packing, along with Gadz and Bobby, for picks and prospects, I think used car Larry could do it.

Win now. However I guess it really depends on who they bring in here. I hope they just try to win now, we need a change, and the East is bad enough where we could win.

I don't think we can do a Boston and "win now". We don't have the right pieces to trade nor do we have a front office that knows what they are doing.

We can't be as good as Boston, but we could do a 50-win thing if we wanted to. We have the pieces (Yi/CV/lotto picks) to field a roster such as this next year:

Sessions/Mo
Redd/Mo
Artest/Mason
JO'Neal/Ruffin
Bogut/Ruffin

Would Kohl go for it? Of course not. That's why I voted option C. He will try to develop Yi and our lotto pick while keeping Redd aboard to try and make the playoffs.

I dunno, I'd rather have a colonic with a powerdrill than have Jermaine O'Neal on this team. I see your point though, there are trade pieces on this team, they just have to be used.

Hm... Citizen, I've seen your options, and I'd prefer Jermaine O'Neal. But I'd rather have neither.

This is pretty much the step to recovery that Herb never takes.

a) Set up a transparent power structure so the players, coaches, employees, fans and media know who is really in charge and making the decisions.

b) Have said "leader" of the organization then publicly announce the course they are going, so again players, coaches, front office can line up accordingly.

I think Herb's just sat and twiddled his thumbs the last 20-years hoping he'd win the lotto in the year Shaq or LeBron came out.

My guess is management will deal Mo, CV, and any big contracts they can possibly get rid of. I believe they don't care alot what they can get in return but they feel the bad attitudes have to go.

I can honestly say I have no idea. I just can't get any sort of gauge of the direction of this team.

I sadly agree with DB we end up drafting Augustin (who I like as a player, just not as much as Collison and not at #7) and move Mo, so they can sell the unselfish backcourt angle to the fanbase. I think they will keep Redd/Yi/Bogut no matter what, for better or for worse, and Mo is gone for sure, CV likely gone in the offseason. As far as what they look to get in return, I have no idea. Kohl doesn't have the stones or the vision for a full rebuild, especially at his age.

I horribly hope you are right. If we get defensive minded team oriented players around Bogut/Yi/Redd I think we could easily make the playoffs in the pathetic east.

More importantly, I think Bogut and Yi's development will really be spurred by such a move. That's my main concern right now, as if one or both develop to be defensive stars then I think we'll have a whole lot hgiher chance of ever becoming an elite team.

I'm hoping we copy what we did in our first post big 3 year when we bought out Mason and Caffey and then traded Cassell for Joe Smith. That team was real fun to watch and made the playoffs depsite our current team having a ton more raw talent (i.e. tradeable assets).

My dream would be to completely gut this team. I don't care if Mo and Redd are moved for expirings and that's it. Get really bad and clear salary.

But my gut is that a big trade isn't made, we take our #7 draft pick and start next year with the same roster for the most part.
