Its time to get real: Send Redd to the Cavs
Every time I think about what team would actually want Redd, and also can send us something of value its the cavaliers.
Lets face it, Expirings are valuable, and dumping Redd would be the classic addition by subtraction move.
Here's a deal that helps both sides:
Bucks Send:
Michael Redd
Dan Gadzuric
Bucks Recieve:
Anderson Varejao
Damon Jones (expiring)
Wally Sczerbiak (expiring)
1st round pick (if they have one)
Wally can provide an efficient 12-15 ppg. if given regular minutes which is better than Redd's chuckster 23 ppg.
Plus Varejao is a very nice backup F/C. He can play with either Yi or Bogut and provice some nice defense.
Furthermore, Wally's expiring deal will help ease Kohls mind as he signs the checks on Boguts new 5 year 60 million dollar deal. (he'll get AT LEAST that much, and he's worth it unlike Redd). Or if Kohl is feeling sassy, he can use Wally's deal to trade for a new big money star thats better than Redd.
So now your looking at:
Ramon Sessions/Mo Williams
Wally Sczerbiak/Mo Williams/Bell
Dez Mason/Simmons
Yi/Varejao/CV
Bogut/Varejao
However, that doesn't have to be it for offseason moves. Now the bucks still have Mo and CV to use as trade bait to either bring in some good wing players, a pg to compete with sessions, or to dump Simmons off on another team.
Now don't flame me for "not getting enough back for Redd", redd is only a scorer, and with him out of the lineup everyone else's production will go up. Plus this gives Herbie some financial flexibility to ensure Bogut can be retained. Plus Varejao would be a very nice back up big man thats a HUGE upgrade over Danny G.

I don't see what great player we are going to get for Redd. You must have missed the examples of the teams that have gotten better by getting rid of their star player for "nothing".
Now we have financial flexibility, a good backup big man, and can do more moves for a complete rebuild (dumping Mo/CV), or do some tweaks and try to win now. Maybe signing Childress to a mid level deal, or shopping Wally's expiring deal for someone of value.

We lose our three worst contracts in one fell swoop.
Thats even better.
Looking at the Cavs situation, Ferry is going to be under alot of pressure to bring in a big name to keep Lebron happy. Redd would fit that bill.
Thats why I think we need to take advantage of their situation to blow things up and rebuild quickly.

Also, under drugbusts trade scenario, I would follow that up with Mo to the heat for Haslem.
I know haslem isn't as "talented" but we need to get rid of this backcourt. Plus adding Haslem at least adds some defense and rebounding to the mix.
Finally if Memphis gets the first pick, I'll send them CV and the 7th pick for Conley.
Also, assuming we get a draft pick from the Cavs, hopefully Rush is on the board or another guy that could be a good sf for us.
Conley/Sessions
Szerbiak/Bell
Brandon Rush/ Mason
Yi/Haslem/Smith
Bogut/Haslem

You're starting a rookie and two second year guys, along with Wally World at SG? That is a lottery team without question.

I'm assuming this is in reference to Redd's remaining contract. As a Cavs fan, why do you care? The Cavs have ZERO cap room until 2010-11 anyway, and the team as currently constructed has absolutely zero chance of winning a title. Redd would dominate with LeBron, I know you like to say you don't want him, but with how many open 3's he'd see playing next to LeBron, he would be deadly.
But I don't know why his contract would matter. Cavs aren't doing anything in FA for a while.
The Cavs need another player. Right now it's LeBron and a bunch of role players.

I want coming back Varajeo (who only has one year left at $6mm and a player option at $7mm), Gibson and this years #1. They can then add in whatever salary crap they need to dump to make the salaries work (Wally, Jones, Snow, etc).
I'd start with Redd/Gadz but if needed would let them reject Gadz if they didn't want it, but were willing to give us all that other stuff. Varajeo, Gibson and the #1 are three decent assets for a rebuilding team.
Set the trade up for the day after the lotto, should we not land Rose with the top pick. The Cav's will be out anyways by that time most likely and Ferry will be on the hot seat. I probably only keep Redd here if we land Rose.

You continue to amaze us all with your assumptions, predictions and my personal favorite--> the eventual breakdown once realization begins to set in

No, what I meant was this has been discussed for 3 years... '05 was the beginning of these discussions, and I can't believe they're still going on... The guy is 3 years older, and I'm not sure this is the direction the team really wants to go in..
I'm not sure he fits here.. He's doesn't strike me as a guy that can play any other style than being the alpha.. He's always been the man on his team from high school until now... It didn't take him long to become that with the Bucks either... He clearly would never be that here, and I find myself a tad incredulous in regards to whether or not he can be as productive as he can possibly be in a support role... Sure, it's easy to assume that playing with LeBron would free him up, but it's just not that easy... There has to be a perfect fit next to LeBron due to the fact that playing with LBJ is a tad harder than it appears...
It's almost the Iverson factor in the sense that LBJ and the offense in which he plays in (that I hate) is called for plenty of LBJ ball domination.. And I'm just not sure a player like Redd could thrive in that format... Especially since he's a rhythm player..
Personally, I would opt for more of a role playing scorer like a Mike Miller as opposed to a top dog like Redd... It's not a knock on Redd, but it's all about the best fit possible..
Not to mention, I don't want the team taking on a bunch of junk contracts and losing picks... I'd kinda like them to start building this the right way, and proceed accordingly...

I just don't see the Cavs winning a title as they are currently constructed. Illgauskas is their last remaining post scoring option, and he is nearing the end of his career. They still don't have a true point, and they still don't have another player that can be consistently counted on for 20+ every night. Wallace is nearing the end of his career.
I don't see how you're going to build through the draft when you're consistently picking late teens/early 20's either.
The Cavs need another "star". Since they don't have cap space for the next few years, I don't see why taking on a big contract would really matter. I can see why you wouldn't want Simmons/Gadzuric's, I'm talking Redd's though.
