My Ideal Offseason **Changed**

Post#1 » by DH34Phan » Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:34 am

I think this is a realistic scenario. 3 trades and a good draft.

Step #1) Trade Yi/Redd/Gadz to LA Clippers for Brand/Mobley
Step #2) Trade #7 overall and CV to NJ for Boone, #10 and #21.
Step #3) Trade Mo and 2009 1st to ATL for Childress (S&T) and Pachulia.
Step #4) Trade Bobby and Voskuhl to Memphis for Cardinal and Collins.
Step #5) Draft Westbrook #10 overall, draft Douglas-Roberts #21 overall. Draft Shan Foster in the 2nd Round.

Sign Aaron Bruce as an undrafted FA.

2008-2009 Milwaukee Bucks
Westbrook/ Sessions
Douglas-Roberts/ Bell/ Mobley
Childress/ Mason/ Foster
Brand/ Boone/ Cardinal
Bogut/ Pachulia/ Collins

NBADL
Aaron Bruce
Shan Foster

LOL.

2 Lottery picks who play defense along with Brand and Bogut isn't a horrible team.

I am sure you are still hoping for the Mo Williams and Michael Redd back court to succeed.

WOW, that is a terrible offseason, I dont mind the Brand trade but everything after that is crap.

Bucks get pick #5 and take Eric Gordon

Bucks trade: #5
Bucks recieve: #10, #21

Why? Instead of keeping Gordon package him for 2 solid picks.

Nets trade: #10, #21
Nets recieve: #5

Why? They get a top prospect in the draft and move Carter to the 3 and trade Jefferson for soemthing useful.

Bucks trade: Michael Redd
Bucks recieve: Larry Hughes, #9

Why? Lets face it, things arent going how we planned. Get a lottery pick and one less year with Hughes who could be solid.

Bulls trade: Larry Hughes, #9
Bulls recieve: Michael Redd

Why? They had a disapointing year but I honestly dont think theyre as bad as they showed. They get a consistent 20 points a night and could move Gordon for other pieces in a S&T?

Bucks trade: Maurice Williams
Bucks recieve: Darius Miles, #13

Why? Mo has been good but I think its time for him to go. Miles would have to sit out his 2 seasons but we'd have Hughes/Simmons/Miles expiring all at the same time with all this.

Blazers trade: Darius Miles, #13
Blazers recieve: Maurice Williams

Why? Blazers get a starting point for their future.

Draft:

#9 Anthony Randolph
#10 Nicolas Batum
#13 Best C available Deandre Jordan, Thabeet
#21 Best PG available, preferably Collison, Chalmers, Augustine in that order
#35 DeVon Hardin (or other PF, Gist ETC)

Team and minutes:
PG-Chalmers / Sessions / Ivey
SG-Hughes / Batum / Bell
SF-Mason / Simmons / Randolph
PF-Yi / Villanueva / Hardin
C-Bogut / Jordan / Gadzuric

Yeah except the players you chose to select are not lottery picks, Russel Westbrook is borderline, and he is a combo gaurd, when we want someone who can facilitate the offense.

Westbrook at 7 is an easy pick. Monta Ellis meet Devin Harris.
Chris Douglas-Roberts will be the Brandon Roy of this draft class, to a lesser extent. He will drop way too low and at 12 would be a great pick IMO.

We can select Westbrook at 12, CDR wont be gone untill the 17-22 range. We should get somebody else with the 7th pick.

Horrible. First of all, neither Westbrook or CDR is considered a star prospect. Both of them project to be good MAYBE great pros, but not superstars. So we're really not that far ahead in the backcourt. CDR is a small forward as well.

Starting two rookies and then Childress at the 1, 2, 3 is going to lead to an absolute ton of scoring drought nights, no way you can live offensively with those three, not to mention rookies rarely can defend either.

That team wins maybe 30 games, maybe.

To be fair, people still really don't know what to think about Westbrook. I wish he'd stay another year in school without Collison there so he could be more of a focal point and play some more point guard. From what I saw, he could either be a star or he could be Charlie Bell. Most scouts, from what I'm reading, have him as a lotto prospect right now, though, so that says something.

ok but seriously the Bucks hire a new GM and he just out of no actual experience with this team, just fan and org disgruntleness decides to completely blow the team up. Seriously, no GM worth a damn is gonna go and do this as much as us Bucks fans crave it. He is gonna need some time to figure out exactly what he thinks is wrong with this team(and yes it is sad that it is tooo the point where it actually isnt an obvious solution). SRY but this is so at least a 3 year project just to become legit there is just too much disharmony and disconnect throughout the org to have any other expectations. So my ideal offseason is Hammond and Carlisle and us takin BPA(screams westbrook) at 7 or 8 and after at least a half season new GM has a plan in place that makes us into winners and then the trade barrage begins.

as for westbrook he may not be considered a star prospect but from what i have seen he is totally the sleeper type of prospect that excels in the nba he has the talent length athleticism and drive to be special in the NBA, he reminds me of a poor mans d-wade, which is plenty good

There's no chance in hell this would ever happen. Ok, these guys are good in college but they aren't going in here to come in here as rookies or even 2nd or 3rd year players and contribute the way you think they are going to. If you ever want to make use of Brand, you've got to have players in their prime surrounding him. Not a bunch of players who might not even be in the league in 3 years. Get proven guys around him and it's a good team.
