this is what i said on jan. 8th
I looked on the 1st 7 pages and didnt find a story about this guy.
I just looked at his D-league stats, and he is averaging
21/6/7 per game.
Yes, he gets a lot of minutes (35 per game), but just 3 games ago he went for 16 points and 18 assists. I think he can be just as good as mo next year or the year after. He scores 21 ppg, and is still shooting 45% from the field. While going 21/6/7, he is only averaging 2.8 TOs per game, which isnt bad.
I say we trade Mo, and get as much as we can, get rid of that horrendous contract and give this guy a shot.
what do you think?
and here are a few responses
Trading Mo and naming this guy our starting point guard = bad idea. He hasn't even played a regular season game in the NBA yet.
I think we should just cut Redd and call up Jeremy Richardson. I mean the guy is a 28 point scorer.
I understand your personal disinterest for Mo and its good your critical. BUT your arguements against him have been essentially disproven with this years play. I know that Mo is highly regarded by management and would be willing to bet that if they did move a back court player it wouldn't be Mo Williams. There isn't more than five other point guards in the east that are as young and physically gifted as Mo.
The last couple of games that they have played have completely shown that Mo is far from expendable. Top this onto that he is BYC and very cheap for a starting point guard in the NBA. I highly doubt he is moved.
